"Are you okay? We've been here for an hour and you didn't hit on anyone yet" Nate yelled in my ear as he leaned closer to me, I laughed at his remark and looked at him,
"The girls are meh" I gestured with my hand and he laughed "I agree"."What about this guy?" He pointed at a tall man, he had dark brown hair that was short on the sides and slicked back on top. He was wearing a white button up shirt that was tucked inside his brown slacks, paired with brown brogues. He looked nice, good even, and he was taller than me which was a non negotiable when it came to men. His arms were almost too big for his dress shirt, and I could see the veins popping on his forearm which was an immediate turn on.
"Umm maybe, was he even looking at me?" I asked and he nodded "Are you sure you're okay? This guy has been staring at you the entire night and you didn't even notice, that's unusual for you" he pointed out and I shook my head.
"Yeah I'm okay, I just wasn't paying attention to the guys before" I wasn't lying, but honestly I wasn't paying much attention to the girls either.
I caught the man looking at me, I smirked flirtatiously at him and looked away, biting my lip in the process. Flirting was something I was naturally good at, I could get any one I want and it usually only took a smile. Thank god for my good genes. I could feel his eyes were still on me, openly scanning my body from head to toe. I liked that he had the nerve to do that, he wasn't scared to show his interest, and frankly I had no time nor patience for a guessing game.
I contemplated whether I should look in his direction again or not, I didn't want to seem desperate, especially when I wasn't. I always knew that if I'm going home alone tonight Nate is my plan B, and it was a good plan. Nate knew how to please a girl, and he knew me and what I liked already, so either way I'd be happy with the outcome.
I decided on keeping my gaze away from the man, at least until he stopped staring at me. I kept on drinking my cocktail, I think it was Sex On The Beach, it's the most ridiculous name for a cocktail but it was one of my favorites.
Just as I finished the last sip Mr. Hot guy finally approached, he seemed to look at Nate for approval which he granted him. Everyone knew everyone around here and it wasn't acceptable to hit on someone's girl, at least not publicly.
"Is this seat taken?" He asked with a British accent, it would explain why I've never seen him here before."Please" I gestured for him to sit down and he gladly did, shooting me a quick smile in the process.
Nate knew that this was his queue to leave, he looked at me in a 'If you're in trouble let me know and I'll kill the guy' kind of look and I nodded, then he left in the direction of the bar and sat between two blonde girls, he was going to have a good night.
"Can I buy you a drink?" Hot guy asked and I smirked, "Buying me a drink before you even know my name? Kind of desperate isn't it?" I teased playfully and he smirked back,
"I don't think there's a person in this club who doesn't know your name, Alexandra" his voice was raspy and the accent was a bonus. He had a sharp jaw line, it was sharp enough to cut through steel.
"Fair enough, pick my poison" he smiled and signaled for the waitress to come to our table,
He ordered us the drinks and moved closer to me on the sofa, I didn't mind."I believe I still don't know your name" I bat my eyelashes in an innocent girly way, that always worked on men.
"Noah Burton, pleasure to meet you" a crooked smile forming on his face as he reached his hand out, I gladly shook it.
Our drinks arrived shortly after, he ordered me a martini and whiskey for himself, a classy guy.
We clinked our glasses and our eyes met, I smiled shyly, well pretended at least.
