My second official date with Emily was today, it was hard to call it our second date because we spend a lot of time together, but none of it was officially a date.
The plan is dinner that she insisted on cooking and then movie night or going out, depends on our mood. I picked up the wine she asked me to, she insisted on it costing less than 20$ and when I tried to argue she just asked for a specific bottle which she said was one of her favorites. I ended up buying a crate so she'll have it in my house too, but I only brought two bottles here. If she knew I bought a crate she would be mad and start saying nonsense about me spending money on her.
I also got her a bouquet of Lilies that I saw at the flower shop next to the liquor store. They were beautiful and I remembered that Emily mentioned once that she likes lilies.
I was wearing a white button up shirt and a plaid wide leg pants, they were tan and I matched them with a matching color wool coat. My makeup was natural and fairly simple, other than my lipstick which was a deep wine color. I stacked some gold rings on, a gold bangle and layered two simple gold necklaces together, everything matched pretty well even though these were all different pieces.
The drive was nice, the roads were empty as usual for Saturday nights. I blasted my music and drove as fast as I could, enjoying every curve and turn that I made. Twenty minutes later I was already ringing the bell.
She opened the door and without noticing my lips curved into a smile. She was a beautiful mess, a smear of flour over her cheek, another one on her nose, her black shirt was now grey from the flour that stuck to it.
"Shit, what time is it?" She asked with panic in her voice "Seven—" she cut me off "Oh no, I thought it was like six, fuck I'm sorry".
I walked inside and pecked her forehead, then cleaned her nose with my thumb "You look ridiculously cute when you're covered with flour".
"I'm sorry I'm not ready yet, I don't even know how this happened I was supposed to have like two spare hours" she tried to rationalize everything but it was more for herself than me.
"Baby it's okay, these are for you" I gave her the lilies and earned shy smile.
"They're beautiful, I'm sorry I'm a mess"
"It's okay" I put the bottles on the kitchen table which was already set.
"Maybe you can pick out my clothes while I finish up here?" She suggested and I think I had a better idea, but it's better if it's a surprise.
"Okay angel"
"You look beautiful by the way, I think I should've started with that" she said as she openly scanned my body, her eyes wandering around to take my image fully.
"I think I deserve a kiss too" I smirked and she smiled in defeat, then leaned in to kiss my lips softly.
"I have to go back to my pasta" she said and I knew it was my time to go.
I made my way up the stairs and went straight to her closet. I picked out a pair of grey sweats and a baggy shirt and slipped into them, then went back to the kitchen.
"What can I do chef?" I asked as I wrapped my arms around her waist. There was something about Em, I always wanted to touch her, not just in a sexual way but I just wanted to feel the warmth of her skin on mine. It was a kind of love language that I didn't know I showed nor needed.
"This will take a while, I'm sorry" she apologized again as she rolled the dough out, I leaned closer to kiss her cheek.
"Let me help you"
"No, I promised I'll make you dinner"
"Baby, turn around please" I asked and she did, her expression unreadable as she realized that I'm not wearing the same clothes I was wearing a couple minutes ago.
