Third POV:

"Thats it! I'm calling the police!" Espio exclaimed, holding his hands up as he marched from the front window to the office phone. "Es, settle down would ya!" Vector chuckled, sliding his feet from off his desk. "If something happened to the kid we would've heard by now." Vector rolled his eyes, an amused grin plastered on his face. "It's been hours and I am fully aware of how immature Sonic can behave at times." Espio groaned, leaning his back against the desk as he stared down at the phone. "Just think of this as some relaxing time, drink some tea, meditate a bit, just chillax!" Vector advised, leading his head back on his chair. "Yeah, now that Silvers gone you don't have to be so uptight!" Charmy giggled to himself, his eyes averting from the television for a moment to look at Espio. "He's not gone! He's just.. temporary absent is all.." Espio retorted, his words fading a bit at the end of his sentence. "Listen, if something bad happens he's gonna call, and plus, what are the chances of that happe-"

Vectors words were cut off by the loud ringing of the office phone. Faster than he could blink, Espio snatched the phone off its stand. Vector quickly pulled the phone out of Espios hands before he could say anything irrational to whoever was on the other end of the calm. "Chaotix detective agency, how can we help ya!" Vector beamed, glaring back at Espio who was glaring daggers at him whilst digging his nails into the wood of the desk. "It's for you." Vector sneered, grinning as he purposefully handed the phone back to Espio as slow as possible. Espio took no time to snatch the phone back from Vector, immediately pressing it against the side of his head. "Hello?!" He spoke, looking down at the device in his hands "Hey Espio!" Silver laughed from the other end, Espios body immediately slacking from the sound of his laughter. "What have you been up to?" Silver chirped, his bubbly tone evident through the call.

"HES BEEN FUSSIN FOR HOURS!" Vector bellowed from behind him, both him and Charmy laughing at Espios sour expression to his remark. A softer giggle emitted from the phone, Espio rolling his eyes in response. He quickly walked to the kitchen for a bit of privacy while he spoke to Silver. "I've been keeping myself occupied since your departure, to put it simply." Espio hummed, a small smile of his own adoring his face. "And what has kept you busy today?" Espio asked, hearing Silver take in a breath. "Well me, Tails, Sonic and Knuckles all went to this really cool shorting range Shadow recommended to Sonic. Surprisingly, Tails ended up kicking all of our butts! Once we were done with that we came back to Tails's place, ate some food and talked for a bit!" Silver rambled a bit, clearly smiling through his words.

"Well it sounds like you've had quite the adventure." Espio hummed, walking in circles in the center of the kitchen. "Yeah it's great. It's actually starting to feel like I'm becoming normal again! Guess that means I'll finally be out of your house soon huh!" Silver giggled. Espio came to a quick halt. "Yes I.. suppose it does mean that.." Espio muttered back, a small lump beginning to form in his throat. "Not soon enough though, Sonic said he's gonna drop me back off in about twenty minutes so I'll see you soon!" Espio picked up on the small queue to end the call, beginning to slowly walk back into the living room. "Well I shall see you then, goodbye Silver." Espio spoke, standing in front of the phone stand. "Okay, bye Espio!" And with that the call ended, Espio resting the phone back onto the stand with a brief sigh. "He will be back in twenty minutes." Espio hummed, sitting down on the couch beside Charmy. "Bet you're real happy about that aren't you." Vector mumbled under his breath. "Pardon?" Espio hissed, whipping his head back to face Vector whose face was hidden behind a book. "Nothin." Vector sneered turning the page of his book. Espio huffed, settling back down into his seat.

He rested his head against his hand while gazing out the window, the mesmerizing mix of colors from the sunset making a far better entertainer than Charmy cartoons he insistently watched.
