Third POV:
Silver rolled his eyes, a smile tugging at the ends of his lips as he nuzzled back into Espios chest. "If you say so~" He teased, continuing to watch the horror film. Espio blew air into Silvers little triangular ears in retaliation to his remark, Silvers ear twitching in response. "Cut that out!" He giggled, rubbing his ear to rid the odd sensation. His giggles slowly formed into a drawn out yawn. "It's getting late, I suggest we go to bed." Espio spoke up, stifling a yawn of his own as he turned off the TV. "Mighty fine excuse to stop watching the horror movie." Silver snickered, rubbing his droopy eyelids as his body sagged against Espios. Espio huffed, unable to prevent a small smile from forming on his face. He sat up, pushing Silver up as well who was purposefully laying against his body. "Do you mind?" Espio narrowed his eyes at the hedgehog who smugly looked right back up at him. "Fine. You're lucky Sonic tired me out." Silver yawned, sitting up straight and stretching his arms above his head. Espio stood up from the couch, gathering his pillow and blanket together. "Would you like to accompany me again?" Espio hummed, shifting his foot towards the staircase. Silver smiled and nodded his head, his tail visibly wagging against the couch cushion. They both ambled up the stairs and into Epsios room, careful as to not wake Vector or Charmy. Silver wasted no time flopping onto Espios bed and curling up into a tight ball. Espio smiled at the sight, closing the door with his hip and dropping the pillow and blanket on top of Silvers body before crawling into the bed as well. He laid down with his back against the wall as Silver scooted up from the edge of the bed beside him.
They laid on their sides, gazing into each other's eyes without a word being said. It was comfortable silence, the sounds of leaves rustling and crickets chirping being the loudest sound despite how faint it was. Little rays of moonlight slipped through the curtains and shone down onto their bodies, ever so slightly illuminating the area they laid. "I'm gonna miss this." Silver whispered, his ears lowering onto his head. Espios tail slowly slithered back around Silvers leg, doing nothing in his power to stop its movements. "You don't have to.." Espio mumbled against his pillow, his eyes beginning to burn from tears. "I can't stay here, you know that." Silver weakly smiled, his voice cracking as he gripped onto the bed covering. "I know.." Espio muttered back, biting his tongue. "..I know..." He repeated, speaking more to himself rather than Silver. They sat for another moment of silence, now avoiding looking into one another's eyes. "Well, until the time comes when you must leave.." Espio sighed, taking a small pause before speaking again. "..I'd like to enjoy this while I still can." He smiled, a small tear rolling down his face. "Yeah.." Silver sniffled, scooting closer towards Espio. "Me too." Espio wrapped his arms around Silvers frame, soaking in the warmth from his fur. Silver smiled at his actions running his hands along his smooth scales. "I don't remember you being this touchy before." Silver cooed, gazing up at Espio who had a faint blush across his face. Espio loosened his grip on Silver, staring down into the golden pools that were his eyes before speaking. "Yes.. well, something changed.. you could say." Silver smiled, sitting himself up a bit on his elbow. "Hm? And what's that supposed to mean?" Silver teased, a smug smile adorning his face. Espio sat up as well, his back resting against the wall. "Silver I... no, it's nothing, let's just rest." Espio stammered, avoiding meeting Silvers eyes. "Mmm no, I want to know what's on your mind." Silver smiled, resting his hand on the side of Espios face. Espio flinched a little at the touch, slowly leaning into it as he got more comfortable. "No, I shouldn't.." Espio muttered back, grabbing Silvers wrist and pulling it away from his face. "Why not, there's no harm in it?" Silver leaned forward, his hands trailing back up on the sides of Espios face. "What would Vector and Charmy think..?" Espio mumbled, his back against the wall as Silver inched closer. "You're smart enough to know they've already caught on to something." Silver scoffed, his thumb resting on Espios chin. "Well what about the others, is this really worth potentially tarnishing our reputations?" Espio conflicted, his face glowing beet red. "Well, if it makes you feel better I wont tell anyone.." Silver smiled, their noses grazing one another as he leaned even closer. "Will you tell anyone, Espio?" He whispered, feeling the heat radiating off of Espios face.
