Summering - {modern au} on where Aether got hit by a car 10 months ago and a few weeks from now the nurses had informed that he had passed. Straight up angst but i left some fluff in the start i'm not completely evil.

Third person

It was a wonderful evening in the town of Tayvet, the sun was setting, the birds are birding (idk how yall call it), office workers are going back to their homes, the buses were full of people.

Xiao and Aether have been dating for 1 year and a half now. They met in college when they were 19, now they're 21. On a beautiful evening like this they were walking near a park when..

"hey Aether, can you close your eyes for a minute?" Xiao said nervously. "Are you sure you're not going to do anything stupid?" Aether said following a small chuckle. 

"Yes now can you?" Aether closed his eyes and Xiao let him to 'somewhere'. "you can open your eyes now"

As Aether opened his eyes he saw a wonderful sight. A sunflower field. "Xiao this is- is beautiful you remember these are my favorite flowers?"

Once Aether turned around he was met with another surprise. Xiao down on his knees, holding a beautiful diamond ring. 

"Aether since you have came into my life, everything have changed. You are my only reason of living. So will you make my life even brighter and marry me?"

As Xiao said this tears started forming in Aether's eyes. "Yes...yes!" Xiao got up from his knees and hugged Aether. "I've always thought today Xiao.." Aether said softly while Xiao placed the beautiful diamond on his finger.

"Me too.." "Do you anything to eat?" "sure" "Alright i'll be right back" Just like that Aether went to the small ice-cream shop across the road.

Xiao patiently for his fiancé to get back but...

Wheeee (think of this as a car noise i'm laughing my ashes out rn)

"Aether!" by the time Aether realize a car was coming towards him it was too late..

Xiao's POV

And that's how i lost the love of my life..

Weeks had passed by and yes Lumine did invite me to his funeral but i didn't go..visiting your loved ones' graves only brings more pain it doesn't change anything.

Since the accident i have been stressing out, losing focus and randomly zoning out to the good times when we were still together.

Third Person POV

As Xiao was standing on the road he zoned out and didn't realize a truck coming towards him. Suddenly, just as the truck was about to hit him he felt a warn hand pulled him to the side.

"Hey! What were you thinking?!" a soft voice almost like.. "Aether?" "Excuse me who?" the boy replied. "Sorry i thought you were someone else.." "Oh is ok! Umm random stranger?" Xiao didn't answer and left.

Around midnight Xiao was sitting on a bench him and Aether used to sit together when someone sat beside him.

"Oh you're that stranger from earlier!" the shorter male said with a smile (yes Aether is shorter in this au) 

"Oh right..what are you doing here?" "I should be asking you the same, I always sit here is quite calming..oh and i'm Arkar is nice to meet you!" "Nice to meet you too..i'm Xiao"

 Xiao said "Xiao? That sounds awkwardly familiar.." so is not only him(x) that has this familiar feeling... Although Arkar has doesn't look like like Aether he gives off the same vibe.

"So who was this person you were thinking about when you almost got  hit by a truck?" "Someone i was engaged to..someone special that i lost recently".

"Oh i'm sorry..anyway is getting late i should probably go..goodbye Xiao i hope to see you again."

As the other male slowly got up and left Xiao realized something on his(a) finger.
