After a formal introduction, Mr. and Mrs. Gill invited Ishan to join them for a chat.

With a mix of curiosity and apprehension, Ishan answered their questions about his studies, dreams, and ambitions.

His confident and thoughtful responses made his parents proud and filled them with hope for the future.

As the conversation came to an end, Mr. Gill suggested that Ishan and Shubman should spend some time alone together to get to know each other better.

With hearts pounding in their chests, the two young men rose from their seats and headed toward the serene garden area.

A blanket of silence enveloped them as they strolled through the lush greenery, each lost in their own thoughts.

Five minutes passed without a word spoken, the tension hanging heavy in the air.

Finally, Shubman decided to break the ice.

"So, are you ready for the marriage?" he asked, his voice betraying a hint of nervousness.

Ishan turned to face him, his eyes filled with a mix of fear and determination.

 "No," he said resolutely.

Shubman's heart sank as he heard Ishan's words.

He had never considered the possibility that Ishan might not be willing to go through with the marriage.

A wave of disappointment washed over him, but he quickly regained his composure.

"Can I know the reason?" he asked, his voice betraying a hint of hurt.

Ishan hesitated for a moment, his fingers nervously twisting together.

"Umm...I-I d-don't like you," he stammered, his words tumbling out like raindrops in a monsoon storm.

Shubhman's heart sank as he absorbed Ishan's blunt rejection.

Refusing to accept defeat, he pressed on, "That can't be the only reason. Is there anything else?"

Ishan  fixed his gaze on the intricate patterns of the garden tiles, and whispered, "You are older than me."

Shubhman's eyes softened as he realized the root of Ishan's apprehension.

"So what if I am older?" he said, his voice laced with genuine affection.

"I will love you more, cherish you more, and protect you with all my heart."

Ishan's eyes shimmering with unshed tears, looked up at Shubhman with a pout, his resistance slowly crumbling under the weight of Shubhman's sincerity.

"I will marry you on one condition," Ishan said, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Anything for you," Shubhman demanded, his heart pounding with renewed hope.

With newfound determination, Ishan stated, "You must promise me that you will love me unconditionally, even when I am old and gray, with wrinkles etching my face and my hair turned silver."

Shubhman, without hesitation, gazed into Ishan's eyes and solemnly vowed, "I promise. I will love you until the stars lose their sparkle and the sun forgets to shine."

After listening to this, Ishan looked at him and smiled.

"So now you will get married to me?" Shubhman asked.

"Yes, without any doubt," Ishan said.

"But..."

"But?" Shubhman looked at him and asked.
