Leonardo
I sat up with a start. I looked to my left to see the woman I fucked last night curled up still sleeping. Another one night stand that made me feel empty. I sighed standing up from the bed. The room was lit by the sun so it wasn't hard finding my clothes. I put on my clothes and left the apartment building. I've been here before, the apartment building that is. I guess it was another one night stand that ended with me walking away feeling like shit.
I walked from the building and to my parked car across the street. I knew where I was so it didn't take long for me to get back home.
I've been going on in an endless cycle of meanless fucks that's starting to do nothing for me. I find myself staring into the darkness while I'm buried deep in somebody whose name I could never remember. What's worse is when I started I needed to be drunk but now I can fuck just about anyone with nothing in my system. Even though it makes me hate myself I still do it. Brief and fleeting moments of satisfaction doesn't heal the fucking human sized hole in my heart.
I pulled into the gravel making its way onto my home. I left the car with the keys on top so my driver could park the car. As I walked into the house I stripped from my jacket and handed it to the maid by the door. She's always here when I get him even though I've told her to stop. I think at this point they are here for show more than actual assistance.
"I'll leave the rest outside my door. Add it to the dry cleaning please." I mumbled climbing the stairs of my home. I opened my bedroom door at the end of the hall.
"What the fuck?" I yelled. The figure in my bed turned over with a smile. "Samantha I could've killed you." I sighed walking further into the room.
"You wouldn't kill me sweetie." She smiled. "I'm too cute."
"You're fucking annoying." I glared at her. I stripped from my clothes and dropped them outside my door.
"Are you just now coming home?" Samantha asked, sitting up. The covers fell from her chest showing her perky breast. I can't say much considering I'm fully naked in front of her as well. She's the only person I'm remotely comfortable with.
"Yes and I don't want to hear anything about it." I said going to get my suit for today out. "Why are you here anyway? I thought you were tied up with work."
"I was tied up for work is more like it." She glared. "I finshed the job and retired."
"Retired?" I turned towards her. "You're 27, how can you retire?"
"It's different for mercenaries Leo. Plus I need to be here for you. Mary told me-"
"I'm a grown man. I don't need a babysitter." I glared at her.
"And I'm not one. My best friend asked me to take care of you and that's what I'm going to do. I just want you to be safe." Samantha stood up from my bed. She walked to the dresser and took a white shirt. "You're not a baby and I'm not treating you like one." She said as she passed me.
I glared at my hands as she went by. I know what I'm doing is wrong. I'm using others to try and fill the hole losing my wife left. I know I'm not the same guy who used to laugh and crack jokes all the time. It's hard to wake up in the meowing and she's not there. Some days I think ending it all would be better than going through this.
"Come take a shower so we can go to work." Samantha called out.
"We?" I questioned walking into the bathroom.
"We." She nodded. "I'm your new lawyer." She smiled. She stood up from the toilet and went to get a toothbrush and towel set.
"What happened to the old one?" I asked confused.
