My eyes followed the hand moments of my boyfriend. He flipped the pancake with a smile. He made it oook so easy. The prefect slightly burned pancake. The fur ball of a cat came and walked inbetween my legs before he walked off to his food bowl.
The cat Ronnie insists on calling Pete was brought over yesterday. This Pete was meowing loudly scratching at the window to Ronnie's apartment. When they met again they both yelled and hugged each other. The cat laid his head on Ronnie's cheek so I counted that as a hug. I love animals but have always had an aversion for cats. He's nice though. He is oddly patterned with black and white spots all over him. Ronnie has assured me Pete is washed and fixed. He even has his shots.
"Now you try. When it starts to bubble and pop it's ready to be flipped.
I glared down at my pancake. The raw dough mocked me. My low cooking skills would be over soon. As long as I can flip this pancake. My hand trembled as I scraped the bottom then in a swift movement flipped it. It crumpled up and looked ugly but it was flipped.
"Looks a little odd but imma still eat it." Ronnie smiled. He looked at me showing off his teeth. "You learning little daddy." He smiled.
"You're a good teacher." I smirked.
"Good. It was a little scary watching you stare at the pancake like you was gon shoot it." He laughed.
"Well I want it to look as good as yours." I said. He hummed with a nod.
"It's not though and that's okay. I'm cool being the cook in the relationship." He nodded, taking a blueberry in his mouth.
I'm in awe of him. Everything about him intrigues me and leaves me wanting more. I feel like I want to study his movements. I'd spend my days watching him if I could.
"Hey." I called out. He turned with wide eyes but closed them as I kissed him. He brought his arms around my waist and pulled me closer.
*~*~*
My door opening made me glare and reach for my gun. I was at my office and before anyone enters they knock. This person how ever did not. I know why seeing his face.
"Detective Brown." I smiled slightly. "What do you want?"
"So rude Leo." He smirked coming to sit across from me.
"To an unwelcome guest, yes." I nodded.
"Just wanted to stop by and ask how your friend is. The one you bailed out." I have no point in asking him how he knows. Detective Brown wants to take me down and is doing anything to do so.
"He is fine. It was self defense." I said plainly.
"It's worrying that someone with your standing would get involved in street gang activities." He said looking at his hands. "Seems like you've gone and got yourself into a little mess."
"I'm good at cleaning up." I said plainly.
"Are you?" He asked. I held back a curse word. "I'm just asking because you're aware of my suspicions and picking up someone who's been known to break the law doesn't look good in your favor."
"Are you going to arrest me for helping a friend out?" I asked.
"He's a friend huh?" He smirked. "How did you make that friend? Doesn't seem like you type?"
"Are you interrogating me?" I asked.
"No, just asking a normal question. I can't be curious."
"It did kill the cat." I shrugged.
