A E T I US — had almost went into shock when he heard Gelly's voice, and it all kept ringing in his ears, over and over again.

"Who?" He demanded, "whos going to kill him? Gelly!"

Gelly took a shaky breath, "our parents, they got into a fight, and— and—"

Aetius needed no further explanation, cutting the dishevealed girl off from panicking herself any further. "Mom! Dad!"

The two figure appeared tiredly, from around the corner, yawning, and rubbing they're eyes, but they straightened up when they saw Gelly heaving out sobs.

"Its Gaius." He told them, going over to whisper something to them, to not cuase any further damage to Gelly. He went over to one of the floorboards, and pulled out a gun, shoving it into his waistband, beneath his shirt. The sight of it only made Gelly cry harder, and Mrs Japheth pulled her into her arms, rubbing the back of her head soothingly, as she led her to the couch, a few feet away.

"My poor baby—its going to be okay." She told her, but it did little to comfort her.

"Its okay, Gelly. Were going to handle this." Aetius told her, the gun handle still peaking out slightly, "hes going to he fine."

Aetius and Mr Japheth had dissapeared a few moment later, silently, as the woman desperstly tried to calm the young girl down, who was shaking with sobs in her arms.

"Its all my fualt." She let out, "all of this is my fualt."

"No baby—" Mrs Japheth told her, "none of this is your fault."

"They were both only trying to protect me." Said Gelly, her words cuasing Mrs Japheth to cry too, she wasnt only talking about Gaius. "If only I—"

"There was nothing you could of done to prevented this." She cut her off, "Everything must happen for a reason, hun. Even if it isnt good."

"Why though?"

The woman shrugged, "Becuase the world is cruel, and only the right people can withstand it, with the kindest of hards, the ones who are genourouse and kind, and sometimes withstanding it, is getting out. Getting far away from this place, so they dont have to face it anymore."

"But I dont want them to leave." She cried.

"Everyone must go eventually." Mrs Japheth pulled her up, cupping her delicate tear soaked cheeks, "we cannot prevent that."

"Is Gasius going to die?" Her lip quivered, and her voice was low and soft, afraid of someone hearing her at such a helpless state.

"We can only hope he'll be okay." There was no point in lying to her, "hes a strong boy, you just have to have hope in him."

Gelly nodded, sinking back into Mrs Japheth's embrace, searching for any sort of comfort. By the end of the night, Gelly had fallen asleep on the couch, with only small candle light to illumate her stained face, awaiting for the horrors to invade her the next morning.

Gelly was awoken, early in the morning, by the front door swinging open, it had to be no later than three AM, when Aeitus walked through the door, and Gelly's heart shatterned when she relized Gaius wasnt with him. He was alone, his hat hung over his eyes, like he was ashamed of what had happend during nightfall. He shot Gelly a simpathetic look, and tears had begun to spring from her eyes again, she had just lost the one person who she could rely on. She didnt know what to think of it, her mind was becoming fuzzy, as she looked anywhere but Aeitus face, but then a cough sounded from beside him; it was Gaius, falling limp in his arms, trying to hold himself up with his injured leg. Gelly gasped, shooting up from her spot, and into Gaius arms, making him stumble back, but he made no move to push her off, welcoming her in his arms. "Oh Gelly." He spoke softly.

"Your okay." She cried to him, not daring to move even an inch away from him.

"Give him some breathing room, Gelly." Aetius let out a breathly laugh.

"No, shes good." Gaius told him, he wouldnt have let go of his sister in this moment, even if she had been ripped away from him, he'd find her, he would always find his way back to her. Gaius seemed to only hold onto her harder, he was crying as well, wet salty tears hitting the top of Gelly's head. His body shook as they held onto eachother, desperate for any sort of comfort that the other provided, it was slim to nothing, but it was enough. Enough to keep the other going, just long enough to survive. Gaius's leg fell weak, and he had almost toppled over if Aetius hadnt been there to help him out, catching him by the chest and leading him to one of the kitchen chairs, propping his leg up. Gelly didnt remove herself from his side, choosing to sit on the floor next to him, and laid the side of her head on his uninjured leg. He rubbed her head comfortingly, soothing her desperate need for comfort. His face was bloodied up and bruised, and his nose was ten times worse than before, but he was still regonizable, he was still Gaius.
