A L M O S T— nobody in District seven believe Treech, about his mystery girl. He had tried, talking about her almost 24/7, but everyone just rolled his eyes at him, or called him stupid for making something up, but nobody gave him a hard time for it, knowing he was still trying to cope with the aftermath of his games.
Treech had turned down, six girls in total, since he had arrived home— or was it seven? Doesnt matter. Treech didnt know why everyone suddenly wanted him, was it just becuase he was reaped? Though he didnt think that meant anything honorable.
But for a moment, Treech was starting to loose hope, each day passing on that Gelly hadnt arrived in seven, it was almost like she would never come, but nonetheless Treech knew he would never want to be with anyone else.
Treech and some of his friends had begun moving logs off one of the Trucks, one by one, hustling up and down. The day had been long and tiring, since they had cut down the Trees themselves, and now had to deliever them.
Treech pushed down a log, to one of his friends Fir, who picked it up and tossed it into one of the piles they had created.
Treech wiped his hands on his pants, picking up a new one, but as he turned around he spotted something, making the log drop out of his hands, and right infront of an unexpecting Fir, who jumped back with a yelp, forcing Treech's focus back to him.
"What the fuck, man!" He shouted, clutching his chest from the scare.
Treech mumbled a quick, "sorry.' But his eyes scanned around the district, he could have sworn, that he saw some blonde shiny pinktails somewhere in the backround, and his heart sped up from the thought of it, but it was gone now.
His friends stared at him confused, stopping their work for a quick moment.
Treech's eyes searched desperartly for the small figure, but the harder he tried, it became more helpless, he sent one final glance before he picked up a new log with a sigh, "im going insane." He mumbled.
Axel squinted at him, tossing down a log to another boy, "Your not going insane, Treech."
"But I am." He argued, shaking his head, "I keep telling myself shes gonna come back for me, but she hasnt— and these damn games, they've messed me up."
"It'll get better." Fir told him, sliding off one of the logs.
"Will it?" Treech muttered, making Axel slap him on the back comfortingly.
"Listen, im sure she probally just got cuaght up in the capital— who knows what they do up there, and if shes just not coming, then thats her loss. You've got like twenty girls just waiting to get a peice of you." Axel reassured him, but his words did little to comfort Treech.
"But they aint her." The two boys gave him a sympathetic look.
"We got your back, man." Fir told him, "dont you ever forget that."
Thats when Treech spotted it again, the same soft blonde hair, he knew so well. Though her usual red ribbons were swapped for blue ones. Her small figure wading through the crowd, carefully and delicatly.
Treech didnt hesitate, jumping off from the truck, and sprinting off into the distance, his friends, even though they were confused, rushed after him.
The small blonde figure turned a corner, just as Treech neared. He knew it was her, it was almost impossible for it not to be, everything was alike, though he could only see the back of her head.
"Gelly!" He shouted, but the girl not hearing him didnt turn around, and stopped to talk to one of the shop workers. Fir grabbed onto one of his arms, stopping him in his pursuit.
