S H E— didnt know where else to go, not after the events from earlier. She wouldnt go home, not to the empty room. The silence would get to her, though it should've been filled with Gaius laugh, his contagious smile, but it wouldnt, and it wouldnt ever again.
Gelly sunk to the bars, her hands gripping it tightly, Treech was the only stable thing in her life at the moment, the only person she had.
She didnt even have to call out to him, becuase as soon as he saw her, he got to his feet, slowly walking over to her.
"Treech." She whispered.
"What are you doing here?" He said suddenly, his eyes scanning over her, he noticed the tears staining her face, her cheeks all red, and the gash on her face was still evident.
"I wanted to see you." She frowned, reaching out to him, but he snapped his hand back, shaking his head. He took a step away from her, to create distance.
He stayed for a moment, his eyes not meeting hers, till he shoved his hands in his coat pocket, "I dont want your help anymore."
"What?" She didnt know if she was hearing him right.
"I should have never let you help me." He said harshly.
"But I thought—"
"No." He let out a low chuckle, "This isnt just affecting me, it affecting you too Gelly. I know you see it, and I cant be worrying about wether or not your going to get yourself hurt."
"You dont have too, ill be fine—"
"You will." He agreed sadly, "but not with me."
"No Treech." She whispered, trying to reach out to him again, but he only stared at her hand, not moving to take it. "I dont care about that, I only want you."
"And I want to go home." He confessed, "thats all I ever wanted, but your not District Seven, and you'll never be it. I cant go home, if im too busy worrying about you."
"Then dont." Said Gelly. "you can focus on yourself, and not worry on me. I can get you home."
"Your not listening to me." Treech told her, "I dont want you, Gelly. I want nothing to do with you."
"I—" Gelly couldnet get the words out, and let her hands drop from the bars. Surpised at his sudden harshness.
"Please go home."
Gelly didnt answer, not meeting his eyes. She didnt know what to say.
"Gelly! Go home." He demanded, not leaving her anymore room to argue as he retreated back to his allaince, sinking behind a rock out of her sight.
Gelly slowly walked away from the bars, looking at the top of Treech's head, but he didnt make any effort to turn to her, to change his mind. He stood with his decision, and she was left to bare with it. Let Treech go his own way.
The walk home was silent, the cold clashing against her soft skin, she didnt know what to think, or even how to take in the whole situation. everything was fine with Treech just this morning, what had changed? Had she done something? She didnt know, and she was draining herself waiting for the answer. She needed to know; what was all this for? She knew treech wanted to go home, back to his family, but why was he shutting her out, all she wanted to do was help.
Her hand clasped against the door handle, shoving it open with one small push. A warm feeling of food hit her nose, and she frowned. Light peeked out from the kitchen, and Aetius peeked around the corner, smiling happily. "Gaius! Gelly! You will noy believe—" Aetius frown seemed to drop as he watched Gelly plop onto the couch, burying her head in her hands.
Aetius stepped forward, bringing himself next to her, "Gels? Whats wrong?"
Gelly didnt know how to say it, and only pulled out the chain from her pocket, and stared down at it. "Gaius— hes..."
She didnt need to finish for Aetius to know what she was trying to say, and she felt his arms wrap around her as she cried. Letting out everything that weighed on her.
"Im sorry— its all my fualt." She sobbed. "All of this is my fault."
"No." Aetius told her, "dont say that, were just glad your safe."
"Im only safe becuase of Treech—" Gelly seemed to cry harder at her words, "and he hates me."
"Im sure he doesnt—" Aetius couldnt finish becuase of how shaky Gelly was getting, her body racked with uncontrollable sobs, feeling empty. She didnt know how to manage this all, she had lost everyone she loved, and she couldnt do anything about it. The only person she had left was Treech, and he wanted nothing to do with her, he would he sent to the arena in just a few days, and even if he did make it out, he'd be sent back to seven, never to be seen by the capital girl.
Treech didnt want her to hate him, but Gelly felt as if he hated her. Treech knew what he would become in the arena, and he didnt want to hurt Gelly, not more than he already had, he would change, and that was uncontrollable, but he didnt want to force Gelly to change with him.
