"Sedna?"
Enyo glanced over her shoulder at Zuko. His hands were heating up, the ice around them melting. His eyes were wide.
"Are you okay?" She whispered.
Katara was still staring at her, breathing heavily.
Zuko nodded once, his eyes narrowed and Enyo's heart began to beat hard. "How long have you known?"
Enyo swallowed. "Only a few days. I found out when the ship exploded. I was able to fight the riptide and save us from drowning."
Zuko's mouth opened and closed. Though he said he wouldn't kill her, Enyo was still unsure. His reaction implied that he hadn't thought about it at all.
"You're supposed to be dead."
Enyo turned her attention back to Katara. The girl was shaking, her hands rising. Water began to grow around her.
"I don't know what that means," Enyo spoke. She kept her voice calm and steady. Katara was mad, and Enyo didn't want to risk angering her more. "I just don't want you killing my friend."
That was the wrong thing to say. Katara's eyes flashed, and the water rose higher.
"Your friend?" She snapped. "Dad said you were dead. You've been dead for two years! He is not your friend!"
Enyo paused. What did she mean? Did Katara know who she was? Could she possibly know where Enyo came from?
Enyo opened her mouth to ask but stopped. Katara had snapped. Ice shards came flying towards her.
With one quick arm, Enyo threw up an ice shield. There were deep thuds as ice buried itself into the wall.
Enyo glanced back at Zuko. He was still defrosting himself, and he was significantly more pale. She waved her hand and the ice instantly turned to water, splashing into the pool. He fell to the ground.
Another wave of ice came towards her and Enyo ran, jogging away from Zuko. She needed to keep him safe long enough to stop Katara and get Aang.
Enyo kept moving. Her muscles moved with her. The stances were familiar and true as if tied up in her subconscious. She didn't remember learning them, but she knew how to use them. She slid across the ice and threw a hand up, shoving a wave at Katara.
The wave was quickly blocked and Enyo hissed. She was out of practice, and Katara had obviously been getting training in the North Pole.
Another wave came towards her. Enyo dodged just in time, mimicking one of the quick moves she had seen Zuko do while training.
She whipped her hands at Katara and a thick stream of water rushed out, snapping into Katara and sending her flying backwards.
Enyo glanced behind her. Zuko was heading for the Avatar.
"How could you lie to us?" Katara screamed, straightening up. Three ice discs came towards Enyo.
Enyo's eyes widened. Katara had been learning from a master. Enyo had only started to relearn in the past few days and both were survival situations. How could she ever win against Katara?
A wave came rushing towards Enyo. She couldn't move, couldn't escape. She ducked, covering her head in case the water turned to shards.
But it never came.
Enyo peeked upwards.
Zuko stood over her, hands steaming. Sunlight began to peek over the walls, illuminating his face and setting his amber eyes on fire.
