Way too many cats- Jayfeather thought to himself. I will never be able to work in quiet in this place, and if I ever find a place for a nest, Goosefeather will probably take it from me.

He rolled his eyes; his mouth carried a few herbs from his walk to RiverClan. The smell was overpowering, and all he really wanted to do was leave all the cats and explore a quieter nearby area. How could this get any worse?

The camp was chaotic. Kits were running freely, scrambling and tumbling under the warriors and elders, chasing each other. Their sweet faces smashed into the fluff of their Clans' tails, as they bumped almost every cat in every Clan. Their mothers tried desperately to pick them up and collect them together, but they were out of control, moving like little bees in a honey hive. One of the newer Queens, Cinderheart, was darting up and down the camp trying to catch one of her kits, Skykit.

But unfortunately Skykit thought it was a game, and he couldn't be stopped easily.

"I love this new camp!" He shouted gleefully. "I could run around all this space all day long."

His brother, Creamkit matched his pace and started running alongside him, laughter in his voice. "This is the best camp ever!"

Skykit started laughing along with him, and the two littermates tripped over each other, and tumbled like a massive scoop of sherbet fluff to the ground, laughing carefree in the midst of  hard times.

Laughter stopped though momentarily, when Skykit cleared his throat and let out a quick, dry cough. But their merriment quickly continued again as the two brothers pawed each other and continued racing around.

"Every cat enough!" Silence hit the camp. Crowstar's voice thundered over the raucous of kits and nagging clanmates. "There has to be some sense of order in all this, or we won't be successful in setting up a camp or defeating the enemy."

All the cats stopped and stared at him in alarm. The only sound was the ironic, serene flow of rushing water tumbling over glistening golden, gray, and white pebbles. The magical haze of the sun made the camp light up with an unreal, dreamy touch.

"I agree with Crowstar," Firestar began. "We need order. We need to divide into camps, figure out which warriors will hunt, and divide the other warriors here on the camp to protect."

"I will stay with Jessy." Brambleclaw offered. "She is not used to the Clan's ways, and she might need help."

Squirrelflight padded to Firestar, mumbling, "He's not really going to watch her carefully. We should make sure another cat watches them both. She could easily do something under his watch, and he won't even notice."

Leafpool joined Squirrelflight and Firestar, full of hope. "Mothwing has finished clearing out the medicine den for us already. It seems we are finally settling somewhat."

Finally, thought Jayfeather. He headed straight away to the medicine den before any other cat could arrive there, only to find Goosefeather taking a nap already in a nest. "Fox-dung!" He grunted. Is there any way a cat can be alone in this place?

The sun shifted, and the wind picked up a little in the camp. Its chilly edge had returned. Crowstar continued speaking, "The problem is going to be how to fit all the warriors." He spoke as he looked at Leafpool. "There should be warriors protecting the camp by the medicine den, but we should also extend some warriors outwards. There is no way the original RiverClan camp will fit all these clans. I will keep myself, and some of my warriors here on the camp."

"There is plenty of space along the river!" Reedstar interjected. "Don't worry! We just need to create some nests under the ferns and trees, and gather some moss for bedding."
