Evie's POV
Mal, Scarlette, and I walked into the girl's dorm and looked around. The boys stared from the door. The room was large, with two four-poster beds and matching floral curtains. There were vases of flowers arranged around the room and armchairs by the window. From the window, there was a spectacular view of the gardens. It was gorgeous.
"Wow!" I exclaimed, "This place is so amaz..."
"Gross." Scoffed Mal.
"I know, right? Amazingly gross. Ew." I corrected myself. But I didn't mean it. Mal eyed the windows with sunlight streaming through.
"Ugh. I'm going to need some serious sunscreen. E. Lottie. Help me." We began closing the flowery curtains. I was sad to not be able to gaze down into those beautiful gardens.
"Phew! That is much better," said Mal.
Then we joined the boys in their dorm. Carlos stood in front of a screen, testing out a video game that involved holding two controllers and pretending to fight off baddies. He turned when we came in, and nearly fell over. Hamish snorted.
"Jay, what are you doing?" Asked Mal. Her eyes fell on the pile of objects Jay was unloading on his bed.
"It's called stealing." He said. Mal rolled her eyes.
"Okay, so what's the point?" She elaborated. Jay grinned.
"Well Mal, It's like buying whatever I want, except it's free." Mal laughed.
"Okay., so you could do that, or you could leave all this here and pick it up when we take over the world." I sighed.
"You sound just like your mum," I said. I didn't mean it as a compliment. Mal put her hand on her heart in mock surprise,
"Thank you!"
"You do it your way, and I'll do it mine." Said Jay.
"You can stash it in my hat if you want," Fredrick added. He was unpacking all of his belongings. There were many belongings.
There was a blast sound from where Carlos was standing. The rest of the VKs looked over to see him still standing there, playing video games with Hamish watching.
"Die, suckers!" He yelled and then laughed. He turned around, "Jay, come check this thing out! Man, it's awesome!" Jay looked skeptical but took the controllers from Carlos. He stepped up to the screen and immediately dodged an enemy that attacked him. He laughed, then began vigorously attacking the enemy. Hamish looked bored.
Mal looked bored too.
"Do I have to remind you what we're all here for?" She demanded. Jay turned around.
"Fairy godmother... blah, blah, blah. Magic Wand... blah, blah, blah." I giggled. Mal sighed.
"This is our one chance to prove ourselves to our parents." My smile dropped. Fredrick shrugged, indifferent. Jay stopped playing. Hamish crossed his arms protectively around his chest. Carlos turned around to face Mal who was saying, "To prove that we are evil and vicious and ruthless and cruel. Yeah?" Mal looked around.
"Yeah." We all agreed, subdued. Mal looked around sadly for a moment but then became serious again.
"Evie, mirror me." Mal and the others clustered around the table while I got out the mirror.
"Mirror, mirror on the..." I paused. It wasn't on the wall. These rhymes were harder to come up with than I thought. "In my hand, where is Fairy Godmother's wand... stand?" The mirror showed a picture of a sparkling crystal wand.
"Zoom ou'." Said Hamish, his Scottish accent thicker than usual.
"Mirror, mirror, not so close," I said.
"It's in a museum!" Said Mal, "Do we know where that is?" Carlos quickly looked it up on a laptop that Jay had stolen.
"3.7 km from here." Mal grinned. She got up and checked that no one was in the hallway, then crept out.
"Follow me." She whispered. We followed. I was hesitant at first but followed eventually. I mean, Mal is my BFF. I would do anything for her.
That was such a short chapter, thanks for bearing with me!! Here is today's meme
