Tracey's POV

I was having a slumber party with Sofie when she hit me over the head with a pillow, saying that she needed a midnight snack. I got up a pulled my hair into a messy bun in case we ran into someone. I would die if I looked like a messy bed monster!

We crept through the silent halls down to the kitchen. As we walked in, we saw that the VKs were in there too, cooking something.

"Mal!" Called Sofie, startling them. Carlos fell off the bench in surprise. I giggled, then went and helped him up. I looked casually over at the bowl of mixture in Mal's hands. "Midnight snack, huh? Whatcha guys making?" Scarlette shrugged. "Nothing special. Just cookies."

Sofie grinned. She loves cookie dough. She dipped her finger in the batter and licked it. "No no no no no!" All the VKs yelled. I looked around confused. "What?" Asked Sofie, equally confused. "I'm not gonna double dip."

"Feel anything?" Asked Evie. Jay stepped towards us and winked at Sofie. "Hey there." He said. She raised her eyebrow. "It could use some chips." She said, referring to the batter. I walked over to the fridge to get them. "And those are?" Asked Hamish.

"Chocolate chips," Sofie told them as if it were obvious. "Just the most important food group." She stared at their confused faces. "Wait, didn't your Mums ever make you like, choc chip cookies? Like, when you're feeling sad, and they're fresh from the oven, with a big old glass of milk, and she just makes you laugh and puts everything into perspective and... Why are you all looking at me like that?" The VKs were staring at her in surprise.

"It's just... different where we come from," Mal said quietly. "I know," Sofie said. "I just, you know, I thought... Even villains love their kids." The VKs looked at each other sadly. I put my arm around Carlos. Sofie gasped. "Oh... How awful." A sympathetic tear ran down her cheek.

Mal lunged forward and wiped the tear off Sofie's face. Then she shook her hands and mixed the batter. "Well, big bummer, but we've gotta get these in the oven." She started pushing us out of the kitchen. "Bye." Said Carlos quietly.

Mal was still rambling. "Thank you so much for coming by. Really, really have a good night. I'll see you tomorrow. Evil dreams." Then she shut the door." I looked at Sofie. "Weird," I said. She giggled. "Yeah, but that guy was kinda cute, right?"

"Which one?" I asked her. "The one with long brown hair and a beanie." She said. "Oh, Jay. Yeah, he's okay." We continued talking until we got back to my dorm, and then we fell asleep.

Sofie doesn't realize how much she helped them by crying... Here's today's meme
