Tracey's POV

I walked quickly through the halls to my locker. I was glad I had finished all my classes for the day. I didn't even participate in any extra-curricular activities, so I was free to relax for the rest of the day.

Lost in my thoughts, I didn't notice Ben walking towards me until I crashed into him, sending both our books onto the floor.

"S-Sorry, Ben!" I apologized. He grinned. "No biggie. I was wondering, did you want to come and watch tourney practice later?" I narrowed my eyes. "Why?" I asked suspiciously. Ben looked uncomfortable. "Well, I noticed you're friendly around the VKs, and they could use some support so..." I raised my eyebrows. "The VKs are trying out for tourney?" I asked. Ben nodded. "Is that a yes?" He asked hopefully. I shrugged my shoulders. "Sure, I guess." Then I walked towards the tourney field leaving Ben grinning.

I walked up to the field as the coach was shouting their positions.

"Jay, Ben, offense. Chad, you're defense. Taylor, you're the shooter." The boys nodded and ran to their respective positions. Carlos just stood in the middle of the kill zone, confused. The coach noticed him and yelled. "Hey. hey! Hey, you. Lost boy! Get out of the kill zone." Carlos walked out of the kill zone, looking more and more confused. He fumbled with his helmet. "Pick it up! Put it on! Two hands!" The Coach yelled.

Carlos tried to put on his helmet backward. I laughed, then ran up to help him. "I don't even play tourney, and I know that it goes this way." He blushed. "Thanks." he smiled. I smiled back. "Now get out there!" I pushed him towards the field.

The game started, and Ben took the ball.  He ran along the field, before passing to Jay. Jay roared and ran along the field, knocking over anyone in his way. Carlos ran away from him, but Jay was determined to best everyone. "Jay! Jay! It's me, Carlos!" Carlos screamed, cowering. Jay took no notice and jumped over him, towards the goal.

Jay threw the ball into the net with the stick, scoring a magnificent goal. Then he threw his stick at the goalie and chased after him. The other members of the team stood up, murmuring uncertainly. Coach frowned. "You!" He yelled to Jay. "Get over here!" Jay's triumphant dance faltered. "What do you call that?" Asked Coach, gesturing to the field. "I call that raw talent." Coach grinned. Jay grinned back.

"Come find me later. I'll show you something you haven't seen before. It's called a rule book." Coach laughed. "Welcome to the team, son." Then he looked at Carlos. Carlos gulped. "You ever thought about band?" Coach asked. "Me and Tracey will work with him, Coach," Ben assured him. What the hell? How could Ben do that to me? It's not like I have the time to fit anything else into my schedule! "Right, Tracey?" Ben grinned at me. Carlos looked at me hopefully like a puppy wanting food. I laughed. "Sure, Ben."

"Alright, let's run that again!" called Coach. "Thanks." Smiled Carlos. I smiled back. Jay walked off, banging his shoulder hard against Chad. "Ow." Sighed Chad. I smirked. "See you later, Carlos!" I called. Then I ran back to my dorm to finally relax.
