Beatrix's POV

I was standing with Ben and Audrey beside the lockers. Ben was talking to Audrey about something to do with the coronation but my eyes were fixed on Freddy and Mal having a conversation. Then Mal said something angrily to Freddy and he nodded.

"Do you think they actually paid for those?" Audrey asked Ben and me, pointing to where a group of girls were laughing and gossiping about their new hair. Mal has been really nice lately and gave them all makeovers.

Hamish and Jay walked over to them. "Hey. The name's Hamish. Yall comin' to the game tonight?" All the girls giggled and said yes. "Keep a lookout for numbers 8, 36, and 101 alright?" Jay added, "But especially 8, scoring the winning goal." I grinned at how they were all fitting in.

"She did it to Jane's hair too, and Fairy Godmother is not happy about it." Audrey ranted. I turned to her. "What's the harm? I asked. She glowered at me, then turned to Ben.

"It's gateway magic! Sure, it starts with the hair. Next thing you know It's the lips and the legs and the clothes and then everybody looks good and then... where will I be?" She pouted. Ben sighed, obviously tired of the conversation.

"Listen, Audrey..." Ben tried to cut in, but Audrey butted over her. She took his hands. "I will see you at the game after my dress-fitting for the coronation, okay?" Then she lifted her sunglasses onto her face and left. "Bye, Bennyboo!" She called.

Mal slammed her locker shut behind Ben. "Hi, Bennyboo!" She called, mimicking Audrey. He spun around, his face lighting up. I raised an eyebrow. It seemed like my big brother had a crush on the purple-haired VK, and while she was a better choice than Audrey, I didn't want to see their breakup.

Mal held up a snaplock bag with a choc chip cookie in it. "I just made a batch of cookies. Double chocolate chip, do you want one?" Ben shook his head sadly. "Oh, I, uh, I've got a big game. I don't eat before a big game. But thank you so, so much. Thank you. Next time. Next time."

Mal shrugged. "No, yeah. I completely understand. 'Be careful of treats offered by kids of villains." Ben looked horrified. "No, no, no." Mal smiled sadly. "No, I'm sure every kid in Auradon knows that." Ben shook his head forcefully. "No, that's not it. No, no, no, I... I really do..."

"No, I get it." Mal said, "You're cautious. That's smart. Oh, well, more for me, I guess." She took the cookie out and went to bite it, but Ben took it and bit it. "See that? Totally trust you. Totally.

"How are they?" Mal asked sweetly. Ben chewed on the cookie. "They're good. They're great! They're amazing! They're, uh... I mean, they're chewy and, and you know, they... is that walnuts? I love walnuts.." He seemed confused. I watched intently "I mean, uh, you know,the... The chocolate...  The... the chocolate...  The chocolate chips are... I'm sorry. Um... Uh, they're... They're warm and soft. And they're sweet... Mal, have you always had those little golden flecks in your eyes?" He was gazing at Mal in adoration.

I gasped quietly. Ben had been spelled! I guess Mal hadn't seen the love in Ben's eyes and had to resort to magic to steal him off Audrey. Hamish crept up behind him. "How ye feelin', bro" He asked suspiciously. "I feel... I feel... I feel like... Like singing your name. Mal!" Ben sang loudly. Mal covered his mouth. "I-I'll see you at the game, Ben," I said, before leaving him with the VKs.

Beatrix knows Ben has been spelled, but doesn't realise the true reason. Here's today's meme
