Chapter 40: I'm Here

Zane carried Kawaii-Chan up to the large tree of the Village, Nekoette followed close behind. Seeing them, Zoey nearly had a heart attack seeing Kawaii-Chan, paler than usual and losing a lot of blood fast.

Zoey: " What Happened?!"

Zane: " That's not important, she already lost enough blood."

Zoey: " Quick! Lay her down on a bed."

Zane brought Kawaii-Chan over to one of the beds, all of the kids try to look over, but Donna pulled them away.

Donna: " Come on, pups. Let's give them some space."

Everyone followed Donna down the large tree, Nekoette looked at Zane, Kawaii-Chan and Zoey, Dmitri called her out.

Dmitri: " Nekoette? She-she's going to be fine. Once Aphmau gets back, she'll make sure that Kawaii-Chan will be good as new."

Nekoette: "... Promise?"

Dmitri: " Cross my heart and hope to die."

Nekoette: "... Okay..."

Nekoette followed her slightly older brother, she looked back one more time before leaving with Donna. Lucinda rushed over and went over to Kawaii-Chan's bed. She gasped seeing the large wound on Kawaii-Chan's body.

Lucinda: " Wh-what happened?"

Zane: " Dante's what happened! He was planning on hitting me but Kawaii-Chan shoved me out of the way in the last second! When's Aphmau going to be back to heal her?!"

Zoey: " Not till a few more days."

Lucinda: " But we'll try to send a message to her and knowing her, she'll want to come home as fast as she could to help."

As Lucinda write the letter, Zoey quickly removed part of Kawaii-Chan's top to get a good look of the large gash. Zane looked away a bit as Zoey started to clean the wound.

Zane: " Is... There anything I can do?"

Zoey: " Yes, bring me some bandages. We can at least keep her from bleeding out till Aphmau and the others get back."

Zane nodded and ran to the other side of the base, grabbing some bandages and rushed back.

Zane's thoughts: " She's going to be okay. Aphmau will come. Kawaii-Chan will be fine."

Zoey finished up clean the wound as best as she could, Zane sat next to Kawaii-Chan, holding her hand. Lucinda whistled and a snow owl came over. She rubbed his neck before handing the owl the letter.

Lucinda: " Go find Aphmau and the others. Make sure they read the letter, Bigglesworth."

The owl that was name Bigglesworth hooted and flew off after Lucinda handed the letter to him. She went over to help Zoey with Kawaii-Chan's wound, casting a few small spells to keep the blood from gushing out as she started missing potions to bring back her strength.

Lucinda: " What are you planning to do? Sit there and do nothing?"

Zane: " No, we made a promise that neither one of us will leave the other."

Zoey: " That's very sweet, but I think they need you a bit more."

Zoey pointed outside, Zane looked down from the tree base and saw Dmitri and the other kids try to comfort Nekette.

Zoey: " The two just lost their father, and they're worry  they could lose one of their mothers too. They really need someone right now. She would want someone to be with them and would do it if she was you."
