The Long Train Ride

"You were always like a daughter to me..."

Y/N POV

I woke up to Clem and Duck shaking me, almost frantically.

Y/N: "Mm, what?" I say, practically groaning.

Clementine: "We've stopped."

Y/N: "Why?"

Duck: "There's a train in the way, look!" He takes my hand and drags me out the RV. He seems... fake

Duck: "See?"

There's a big train intersecting the road, making it impossible to drive around from.

Y/N: "Yeah, I see it."

Duck: "Let's go over there! That's where everyone's that."

He walks over to a pile of logs, almost like someone was camping there. I take Clem's hand and walk over to the group; only seeing Kat, Carley, Ben, and obviously Duck.

Y/N: "Hey," I do a little wave.

Carley: "Hey."

Y/N: "Where's Lee and Kenny?"

Carley: "They have a plan to get the train running, possibly taking us to Savannah."

Clementine: "That's where my parents are!" She says with a smile.

Y/N: "Yeah. Mine too."

Carley: "Maybe we'll see them." She gives Clem a reassuring smile.

Clementine: "Yeah!" She walks away to Katjaa and Duck.

Carley: "Hey, thanks for... calming down Lilly. I don't know what would've happened if I blew up on her."

Y/N: "Yeah, it's fine. Lilly's... still broken from when I killed her father."

Carley: "Can I ask you a question?"

Y/N: "I mean... I can't say 'no,' so go ahead."

Carley laughs and pats the log near her for me to take a seat, in which I do.

Carley: "So, what happened in the locker?"

Y/N: "Oh..." I hesitated and looked down. "I think I was knocked out after finding Mark first. Then I woke up in the meat locker... Larry was yelling and attacking the door. And after a while, he began to have a heart attack."

Carley: "...then what happened?"

Y/N: "He collapsed, and Kenny wasn't going to take a risk. He suggested that we'd kill him with one of the salt licks nearby... And when they were all busy with their arguments, I took a salt lick and threw it on Larry's head. I killed him."

I look up at Carley's gaze with an emotionless face, I think I freaked her out a bit.

Carley: "Oh... that's... why didn't you wait for Kenny to do it?"

Y/N: "I didn't want to take the risk. Clem was in there too, I couldn't let her be in danger."

Carley: "You care about her a lot, huh?" She smiles at me.

Y/N: "Of course, she's my best friend."

Carley: "Uh huh." She gives me a mischievous look.

Y/N: "Yeah..." I raise an eyebrow at her. "Anyways, I'm going to check on Kat..." I get up and walk away from her, not wanting to see her smirk again.
