"Listen, we don't want any вещи?"

1st Person

My eyes slowly opened when a pair of hands shook me.

I never liked the cold, nor the snow, and I could feel the allergies coming in. It took me a moment to sit up, my nose numb from the freezing air as I looked up at Clem, who placed a finger on her lips so we could stay quiet.

Clementine: "Jane left," she revealed.

I blankly stared back at her, zoning out. I wasn't surprised, but she left? Just like that?

Y/N: "When?" I asked after finally gaining my bearings.

Clementine: "This morning," she answered, taking a look at everyone sleeping in the small room. "Kenny wants to leave when we all wake up. So I woke up you first."

Y/N: "Where are we going?"

Clementine: "Wellington."

Y/N: "Wellington?" I repeated, almost dumbfounded.

Yeah, I remembered Christa talking all about it, but I never shared a true opinion on it as it was merely a rumor. Though, I could never defy Christa, let alone Kenny.

Y/N: "But what about Rebecca? She needs to rest. What if—"

Clem didn't let me finish as she held up a hand, giving me her signature sassy look.

Clementine: "I already argued with Luke."

Great.

Duck: "It's cold!" he complained, shivering every step he took.

Y/N: "Yeah, well I am too!" I shouted back.

Duck: "But you have Clem!"

My brother wasn't lying. Clementine didn't care if anyone saw when she purposely stayed by me, almost like a clingy koala that was seeking warmth. Her arm was interlocked with mine as we took a synchronized step.

I wasn't complaining, hell, I hated the cold too. Plus, I was too shy to get close to her, even if we were technically dating. I wasn't going to admit it, but I still didn't understand how dating worked. I would've asked Clem, but I could survive another day.

Luke: "We shoulda stayed put. We shoulda stayed put until Rebecca was in better shape," he complained to Kenny, who also clinging to himself for warmth.

Kenny: "She wasn't gonna get no better back there. We gotta find food, get her someplace warm."

Luke: "This look like someplace warm to you? We can still turn back."

Kenny: "That's not an option. Everybody hang in there. We gotta keep movin' if we're gonna make it to that town before nightfall."

Luke: "You don't even listen to anyone else," he continued to berate. "You just go on barkin' orders. You gotta lighten up, okay? You're pushing 'em too hard."

Clementine: "You're not helping anything by arguing," she interrupted, her grip on my arm tightening noticeably.

Y/N: "Calm down, you're gonna break my arm," I whispered, but it was just a tease to lighten the mood.

As expected, something went wrong. While we walked, Christa and Bonnie gasped as they prevented Rebecca from fainting, Christa grabbing a hold of the baby— who didn't have a name yet.
