"So what are we now?"

1st Person

Duck: "We made it."

I waited before letting go of Clem's hand, stretching my stiff arms and gazing over at who made it. Mike, Bonnie, and Christa were speaking, their faces edged with concern, but was quickly replaced with shock when they turned our direction.

Mike: "Holy shit."

Bonnie: "...It had been so long. We—"

Christa: "We thought most of you didn't make it through."

Mike: "Well, besides..."

He turned around, eyeing Kenny who was slumped forward and staring down at the floor.

Clementine: "How's Kenny?"

The three shared a look before answering.

Mike: "I tried to talk to Kenny and he flipped out on me. Started yelling. Scary shit."

Bonnie: "I know he probably didn't mean it. But it was scary."

Christa: "I keep telling you he didn't mean it. He lost his girlfriend, be respectful," She resorted.

Duck: "It's because I killed her," He muttered out,
which was only audible to me and Clem.

Y/N: "He would've died if it wasn't for you. She was already bitten."

Clementine: "There was nothing we could do," She added.

Mike: "Honestly I've been nervous to even go near him," He continued.

Jane: "What, you think he's gonna shoot you?" She spoke with a hint of sarcasm.

Duck: "He would."

I shook my head when they turned their attention to my brother. I knew he was sorry for what he did, but I needed him to shut up.

Mike: "I would assume with the way he is now."

Christa: "Maybe I could—"

Duck: "No, Christa. I'll talk to him. I'm his son, and what happened was my fault."

Jane: "Hey. You did what you thought was right—"

Y/N: "Because it was right. She wouldn't have been able to survive that," I interrupted.

Clementine: "She would've been hurting."

I watched as Duck tried to take in our words, but he was still struggling. I knew it was hard for him to understand things that involved his mental state, but he took a breath and nodded.

Duck: "I know, but I still want to apologize."

With that, he slowly made his way over to Kenny, whose hands were clenched into fists as that was the only thing keeping him from losing it. Once he looked up at his son, I knew he was on the brink.

Kenny: "You think I don't know what y'all are whispering about over there? 'What's wrong with Kenny?' 'Why's Kenny acting that way?' 'Do you think Kenny's okay?' It's all I hear from anyone anymore," He spouted out and shook his head, refusing to give his son a second look.

Duck: "Kenny. I am so, so sorry for what I did. I—"

Kenny: "You're sorry, huh?" He looked up, his voice rough and bitter. "Well that's nice of you, seeing as this was your fault in the first place."
