Chapter 292: On The Way Back To The Village

Several days later.

In the Fire Country's forest.

The forest birds were singing happily.

The autumn wind was like a sharp sickle, blowing through the willow tree branches. Half green and half yellow leaves fell down.

On the forest path, Hatake Kabuto pushed the wheelchair forward with both hands while carrying a bulging luggage bag filled with storage scrolls.

Uchiha Tonan sat in a wheel chair, his eyes wrapped in white bandages, holding a cup of hot tea that was emitting white smoke.

Hidden Cloud ninjas had returned to the Land of Lightning following the battle a few days ago, after Uchiha Tonan killed the third generation Raikage.

Of course, it wasn't because they were afraid, but because the Third Generation Raikage had died and no corpse remained.

This was a major concern for Hidden Cloud.

They not only lost their absolute combat strength, but also the village's power.

They desperately needed a new Raikage to restore the village's rule and suppress the ninja clans of the village.

They also needed to make time to attend the funeral of the 3rd Raikage.

Konoha would presumably be confronted with Hidden Cloud's insane revenge once the situation in Hidden Cloud village had stabilised.

All of this, however, had nothing to do with Uchiha Tonan.

Uchiha Tonan had almost gotten what he wanted in this war, so there was no point in continuing.

With the excuse that he was blind and disabled, he stayed in Konoha to rest.

He planned for the future of the Kyūbi.

He was afraid that if he didn't use his body as a cover, Hiruzen Sarutobi would have assigned him a lot of wartime tasks.

'When the time comes, I will have no choice but to reveal my true appearance.'

A gust of autumn wind, fragrant with fruits, blew against his face, touching his heart.

Uchiha Tonan raised his head and exhaled deeply. His face was flushed with inebriation as he said leisurely,

"I can smell the aroma of autumn."

"Do you know what I'm talking about, Kabuto?"

"Autumn is my favourite season because it symbolises the joy of harvest."

When Kabuto thought about how he was about to return to Konoha and see his brother, he became very happy. He smiled and said,

"Yes, it was already autumn yesterday."

"The weather is bitterly cold. Sir, you must take care of your health."

When Uchiha Tonan heard this, he took a sip of tea and said softly,

"You are aware that I dislike this type of chauvinism."

"The greeting of words sounded warm to the heart."

"However, it is far less than a cup of hot tea to me."

When he heard this, the joy on Kabuto's face vanished, and he became slightly glum.

Uchiha Tonan appeared to notice the change in expression behind him. He said lightheartedly,

"This is how emotional animals behave. They will not remember kindness, no matter how many benefits they receive."
