"Haven, you mind leaving the car for a few hours?" Jax asked, as he stepped into the clubhouse,"I gotta take care of something, but I'll be right back to change the oil." He commented, and the girl sighed.
"You got someone who'll give me a ride home?" She asked, causing him to nod.
"Juice," Jax called out,"You're giving Haven a ride home."
"I'll drop you off," Juice commented,"and I'll come back to get you when your car's ready."
"Don't bother," Gemma said, as she walked into the clubhouse,"She can spend a couple hours with me. I gotta run some errands."
Jax gave his mother a look, but after a small glare from her, he let out a sigh and simply nodded. He wouldn't win that argument, so he didn't even bother trying. She simply walked over to the Mathers girl, wrapped her arm with hers, and pulled her out towards her car. Haven let the woman practically drag her around. To be honest, she felt safer with this woman she barely knew, than she did with Kim and she had known Kim for almost all of her life.
"It was nice of you to let Jax work on your car," Gemma commented, as they drove off the lot,"He and the guys really admire how beautiful it is."
"I think Jax is the only guy, other than my dad, that I trust to even touch my car. I'd have to see the other guys working to see if I'd trust them." Haven replied, causing Gemma to chuckle.
"Can we discuss something, girl to girl, without having an argument?" Gemma asked, making the girl frown.
"If it's about my father or my family, the answer is no." The girl retorted, but Gemma shook her head.
"No, I definitely understand the family issues, believe me," Gemma said,"I was wanting to talk about your friendship with Tara."
"Oh, that." Haven murmured, unsure of what to say about it.
"Yeah, that," Gemma chuckled,"How close are you two? How much do you know about her?" She asked, making the younger girl frown.
"Not too much, why?" She questioned, and Gemma sighed.
"I'm trying to protect you," Gemma replied,"When you left the other day, Juice told me a little about your issues with your mom and step-mom, and since you never had that real connection with a woman, I want to try and give you that."
"I'm not some charity case." Haven sneered, but Gemma was quick to stop her.
"That's not what I was getting at," Gemma sighed,"Look, Tara isn't the woman you think she is. She's a manipulative bitch, and she'll do anything to get her way, or get back at someone for doing something that she didn't agree with," The woman pursed her lips,"I know you don't necessarily trust any of us, but I'm telling you the truth about that bitch. She'll ruin everyone and everything in her path if she feels like it."
"Can I ask what she's done to you, to make you hate her so much?" Haven asked,"You don't have to tell me." She quickly added, but Gemma simply waved her off.
"She was Jax's high school sweetheart, then she left and ran off to Chicago. She broke his heart, and it took years for him to get back to what he use to be. Then she came back, she became Abel's doctor, and we had to put our trust in her to save his life. She used that against us, and definitely against Jax. She brought her stalker ex with her, who was an ATF agent. I'm not going to get into everything that happened with him, but I'll tell you that she simply came back because she knew Jax would handle it for her," Gemma explained,"Her getting knocked up later was the only reason she stayed, in my opinion. She doesn't truly love my son, she just loves the status she thinks she has because they're together."
"She never told me about any kids, or her having any kids to be specific." Haven mumbled, and Gemma nodded.
"See what I mean?" Gemma questioned rhetorically,"She's not to be fully trusted, ever. Don't tell her anything about your family that you don't want the world to know." She said, causing Haven to nod with a frown.
Haven couldn't believe what Gemma had told her. She thought that Tara may have actually been a good friend, but it seemed she was wrong. She didn't know who she could really trust in this town anymore. She wondered if coming to this town was even a good idea anymore.
"So, do you have an old man? Maybe someone you're into from back home?" Gemma asked, deciding to break the silence.
"No," She replied,"I didn't really get a chance to date or anything when I was touring with my dad. He wouldn't let me date anyway, he believed that nobody was good enough for his little girls."
"Well, he was right," Gemma nodded,"but I think I might have the perfect guy in mind for you." She commented, causing the girl to scoff.
"I doubt that," She answered,"Most people can't handle me. My personality is something that puts a lot of people off."
"I don't know," Gemma chuckled,"I think Happy could handle you." She said, making Haven laugh.
"I think I have too much personality and trauma for anyone to want to get close to me," Haven replied,"So I highly doubt anyone could handle me, especially Happy. He looks like a guy that'd snap the first time I got mad."
Gemma simply smirked at the girl, and Haven rolled her eyes playfully. She didn't want to ruin Gemma's ideas, but she really did doubt Happy would ever be able to deal with her. She was a force to be reckoned with, and she could fight like a man. Nobody in Charming knew that yet though, and she hoped it stayed that way...
