"You're coming right? right? righ-" Nicole insists mere inches from my face.
"Why do I have to go?" I ask turning to her, books in hand. She shakes her head and wraps her arm around me bringing my face closer to hers so she can whisper in my ear. "The question isn't why you have to go, its why not go?"
I stare at her skeptically obviously not convinced. "Nicole you know parties aren't really my thing" I continue before she retorts back. " And Sean's party was just a one time thing because Cole needed me."
"That's not an excuse!" She lets go of my shoulder and stands in front of me. "Look I wouldn't be asking if it wasn't important to me. I really want you to be there because I want you to meet someone."
For the short time that I have known Nicole, I have never heard her talk about anyone--unless of course she was talking a bunch of shit-- who she was dating. Well ever since her last boyfriend who died in a car accident I knew she wasn't ready to settle back in. She took out her anger by sleeping with anyone and everyone, I somehow managed to minimize that but knew deep down she was still hurt. Maybe this person was going to help move forward, and I couldn't let her miss her chance of being happy.
I smile at her a nod my head in defeat. "Okay, fine."
She lets out a squeal in excitement "Okay, okay. Umm, I'll see you then!" She twirls around and skips down the halls heading to who knows where. This makes me smile. I turn around to close my locker but instead I'm greeted by Cole's gigantic figure resting on it.
"Move" I say trying to push past him so I can get to my locker. But he doesn't budge. "Hello to you to, lover."
"What do you want?" I ask growing impatient. He is currently wasting my lunch time, he could have asked me this in the morning.
"Did you get my note this morning? I thought of it last night." A grin plastered on his face, feeling so accomplished.
I hold up the folded up loose-leaf paper that was left in my locker, like every other day. Cole really seems to know Ashley because she glares daggers at me every time she sees me opening my locker revealing the 'love' letters form Cole.
"Don't think yourself as an ugly person. Think of yourself as a beautiful monkey." I say reading off the paper. "Seriously Cole?"
"What? I really like that one." He defends in between laughs. I shake my head and stuff my chemistry text book in my locker.
"Hey by any chance have you looked at the flash drive yet?"
"Not yet. Why? It's not porn is it?" I ask him flatly. He laughs and shakes his head. "Awe. Does lil' Yvette want to watch my porno, oh I'm flattered." He says an amused smirk plastered on his lips.
I snort. "Yeah you wish, Dixon." I look at the clock hung up on the side of the wall. We have about twenty minutes left to spare. We both turn and walk down the hallway side by side, none of us saying a word. Of course Cole is the first to break the silence.
"But on a more serious note. Have you heard from Ashley? Like at all?"
"Come to think of it, I haven't. I guess she forgot about the whole hanging out with me thing. Thank god." I say. "Do you think she still cares?"
He stops mid-track and stares into space with a contemplative look on his face. "I honestly have no idea." He breathes out. He shrugs his shoulders and continues walking ahead of me.
What was that? Did he just shrug his shoulders? Does he even care about Ashley anymore? The thought of him not caring about Ashley sort of gives me a sense of vindication. Why is that? It's probably because Ashley doesn't deserve to get back together with someone she wants. Yeah, plus I hate her.
"Let's not eat school lunch. Let's go out. I'm feeling Chinese" Cole interrupts my thoughts. "My treat."
"But we're not allowed to go out for lunch dummy."
"I wasn't going to ask permission anyways. C'mon, I know the securities that guard the back door." He grabs my hand and starts dragging me to the back of the school. I stop myself and tug my hand away.
"We don't even have enough ti-"
"I'll bring you back just in time for our last classes. I promise." He doesn't wait for my response and grabs my hand. What's the point? You know you can't argue with the school's bad boy, there's no chance in you winning anyways.

It's short I know, sorry for the late updates. I honestly have been losing inspiration to continue writing. But regardless I want to finish this story so bare with me. Please comment and share your thoughts below, show me you're real ^^.
