Without notice I get into Jonathen's car and rush to Eastwood hospital. I tried to hold back the tears from falling, but once that first tear broke free the rest followed like an over flowing stream.
I blink a couple of times in order to get my vision back, I feel the hot tears come down my cheek the taste of salt lingering on my lips. It was too painful, like a bullet to the chest. I couldn't hide the fact that I was terrified. Terrified that Cole wouldn't wake up.
It didn't take more than five minutes to arrive at the hospital. The smell of the doctors and medicine envelopes my nostrils as I rush to where Cole's mother, Thea and Sean were seated.
I walk up to them, I notice Thea's eyes swollen from all the crying. Her mom seated right beside her, resting on her lap. Her mom was sound asleep, while Thea soothed her back gently. My heart ached seeing them like that.
Sean walks up to me with a faint smile on his lips. "Hey. The doctor said he was fine and all he needed was some rest." He assures me booking an arm around me.
"Yvette, thanks for coming it means alot. Really." Thea chimes in grabbing onto my hand giving it a squeeze. I smile and nod my head.
"Can I go see him?" I ask Sean. He nods his head and walks me to the corner.
My breathe hitches at the sight of Cole on the bed, lying down so hopeless and vulnerable. You could tell there was a big impact due to the scratches on the side on his cheek and forehead.
I could feel the urge to cry again. Something about not seeing him how he usually is, hurt. It hurts not to see him smile again.
Sean lingers on the doorway. "Call out to me if you need anything." He says as he turns and walks off leaving me and Cole in silence.
The beeping of the moniter calms me down as a sense of hope that he is going to be okay soothes me. I place my hand on top of his and intertwine my fingers into his.
"You idiot." I say to him. I stare at him and then at the band aid on his forehead. I lean my face down to his and place a gentle kiss on his wound.
"I'm sorry." I linger on my words as I try to swallow the tears. "I... I over reacted earlier, but it was because I was pissed off. Pissed off because you were right. As much as I don't want to admit it..I do need someone there." I take a deep breath and brush the hair of his face with my fingers.
"I hope you know that you're annoying. And there is no way I'm admitting this to you when you're awake, so I'm only going to say this once!" I point a finger at him. "No matter what the situation, I feel like you manage to put a smile on my face. Without you I sort of feel.. empty." I narrow my head and take a seat on the chair next to the bed.
I stiffle a laugh and shake my head. "What am I even saying? You're...well you. And I'm, me. Its silly to even consider having feelings for you. I'm just confused, maybe that's it." I pause noticing that I still have my hand on his. I quickly pull away and collapse my hands together.
My eyes roam his face and take in his features. How his dirty blonde hair sculpts his face as he lays there with his eyes shut. Then I feel my eyes shift to his parched lips, I could suddenly hear my heart beat ringing in my ears.
Before I know it I'm leaning my head down mere inches from his face. I could feel the heat rise up to my cheeks as I freeze in my position with wide eyes. I gulp and blink a couple of times, there was no escape.
Cole's was piercing right back at me. And there was no denying the fact that Cole caught me. I was about to kiss him! What were you thinking Yvette?! Stupid, stupid, stup-
"Yvette?" Cole groans with furrowed eyebrows.
At the speed of light I lift myself back up and stand straight. "W-what y-your awake?" I stutter almost falling backwards.
He groans picking himself up and resting his back onto the head board. "What are you doing here?" He responds yawning. He looks around confused and then back at me. "Why am I here exactly?"
"You don't remember?" I ask stepping closer placing the back of my palm on his forehead. "You don't have a fever." I take my hand away and drop it to my side. "Cole, you were in a car accident."
"Really? Well that explains alot" He says rubbing his head. He looks back up at me and is taken back. "W-why are you crying?" He stammers
I sniff and punch him lightly on the arm. "For making me worry like that."
He chuckles and grabs me with both arms enveloping me into a hug. He grips me tight while patting my hair. "Thanks for coming to see me." He breathes in my ear.
I slowly wrap my hands around him as well and close my eyes smiling. I sniff him, his pheromones conquering my senses.
"You guys are adorable." We hear Sean's voice ring in the background. We let go of each other and see all of them standing at the door way. Cole's mom is in tears as she lunges herself at Cole and embraces him in a bear hug. Thea follows right after with the same expression.
Cole laughs as his mother as she uders words while sobbing making her sound like a seal. I stare at him happy that he is back and himself again. He notices my stares and looks at me. His eyes boaring into mine. I get taken back surprised, he smiles and naturally I smile back. ---------------------------
