Din Djarin's point of view:
The first time I work up it was to a loud (obnoxious) knock at Leia's door. Drowsily, she groaned and got up to answer it, I fell straight back to sleep.
The next time I woke up my eyes were glued shut but I heard whispers and mutters around me. "What is he doing here?" A voice quietly hissed and I saw the legs of a man standing in front of me.
"He came round for a few drinks." Leia explained casually, "I don't think it's any of your business what your worked do in their free time, Luke." She spoke the name with some form of bitterness.
I knew that name and that face, slowly I pried my eyes open to be met with Luke Skywalker's face. Resentfully, he stress down at me, "Get up, I need to speak to you."
"No." I slurred slightly and pointed at him with a weak finger. "It's out of work hours, I don't have to do shit." I was aware I was being rude but I was far too hungover to care. From my comment Leia stifled a laugh.
He sighed and grabbed my arm to pick me up, "Come with me." He pulled me out from under the blanket and dragged me through Leia's front door and into the outside world. I squinted and then covered my eyes at the sun. "What are you doing here?" He cocked his head forward.
I shrugged, "Just like Leia said, I came round for some drinks. Why are you here?" I insinuated.
His face filled with rage, "I apologies I came to visit my sister!" He exclaimed, "It's you who I believe has no business here whatsoever!"
Brother? Sister? I genuinely wonder how they are related though, two completely opposite ends of a stick. Luke was so... well he was him, and Leia was just so lovely.
He put a firm hand on my shoulder and then turned me to face the road, "I think you should leave." He remarked. I stared up at him and went to head back inside to say goodbye to Leia, "Now." He glared down at me.
I sighed, accepted defeat and then walked away.
As I walked down the pavement with messy hair, puffy eyes and crinkled clothes I (received a few stairs) thought about every TV ing that had been happening recently.
My life was already on the tipping point and then was just thrown upside down by a cup of coffee. I tried to stop my eyes tearing up as I walked but as I wondered so did my mind ; there was no getting out of this, I couldn't explain my debt away, this was very much (and far too) real.
When I had finally got to the cafe it was six in the morning so luckily we hadn't opened yet. The light was on inside and I strolled in to see Bo and Ashoka staring at me (Grogu laying on a new bed). They both tried to cover a gasp with a cough.
Ashoka rushed over to me and ushered my behind the counter, "Oh Din, are you alright?" She asked lucking up at me sympathetically.
My eyes narrowed, "Yes, just a bit hungover. Sorry." I realised how bad it was.
"You look like shit." Bo remarked bluntly.
I forced out a weak, tense laugh, "I know." I didn't find it funny or amusing, it just hurt.
Ashoka frowned, "Come here, we've got some spare clothes for you behind the counter." She explained pulling me behind the counter.
"Thank-" I paused and then took in what she had said, "You have spare clothes for me?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
Her lips parted, "Oh Din, I didn't-"
I held my hands up, "No! No. Of course you do, poor Din, can't stand on his own two feet!" I snapped.
Ashoka shook her head, "Din that's not fair, I was just-"
I stomped, "Well I'm not! I don't
Need your sympathy, nothing. I am sick and tired of just being the poor one!" I exclaimed ignoring whatever Ashoka was saying. "That's all you see, that's all anyone ever sees!"Bo started, "Din, Ashoka's just trying to help." She held up her hands to calm me down.
It was just patronising.
"Help! I need help?!" I rolled my eyes, "Ugh! I am so sick of this, first Luke and now you guys. Fuck it, I'm leaving. I'll be back on my next shift." I rushed towards the door and then picked up Grogu who meowed at me.
"Din, if you don't hat then we'll have to-" Ashoka started.
"Dock my pay. I know." I finished for her, "Bye!" I yelled and then slammed the door.
As if on cue it thunder rumbled and rain came cashing down. I sighed and tucked Grogu into my jumper. I knew all too well that what I had just done was completely irresponsible, but I had already made a scene now, I couldn't go back inside.
Storming through the streets I pushed past anyone and everyone ( a mistake that had gotten me into this mess).
As soon as I was nearing my apartment building I ran towards, desperate to get Grogu out of the cold. I sprinted up the stairs, twisting mg ways through the corridors until I came to my apartment door.
When I reached it there was an envelope on it that read : eviction notice.
"Shit!" I screamed. Suddenly I pressed my forehead against the door as my eyes filled with tears.
