When your platform rose out of the tube you were blinded by the sun. Your eyes adjusted to the light quickly enough and you found yourself with water all around you and the cornucopia in the center on a floating island. There were thin rocky paths on either side of you that lead to the cornucopia. You looked around to see who was on either side of you and you couldn't have had better luck, Finnick was right next to you. Once the gong sounded you dove into the water and began swimming toward the Cornucopia.
You being from the fishing district had known how to swim since before you could talk. You were the first one at the cornucopia and you quickly ran toward where you saw your weapon of choice your throwing knives, you also picked up a machete for added protection.
You heard someone behind you and you swung the machete and nearly sliced the head off of Finnick. He held his hands up in surrender, holding onto his beloved trident. "Same side, darlin?" He said with a smile.

The smile quickly faded though, "duck." He tells you and you duck your head quickly and you feel his trident whizz past above you. You hear a body fall to the ground and a cannon goes off.
You stand back up and glance at him, "thanks." You thank him and he nods as he retrieves his trident from the body.
You saw Katniss fighting with Cashmere farther away from you and so you throw one of your knives right into Cashmeres leg. She cried out in pain and fell into the water. You grabbed the bow and quiver from the cornucopia and tossed them at Katniss's feet. "Maybe next time, grab a weapon before attempting to fight." You snap at her.
You were bitter towards her, because now because of her you had one less weapon to defend yourself with. She coughed up saltwater as she grabbed her bow and slung the quiver around her shoulders as she stood up. "Then why'd you help me?" She said coughing once more.
You shook your head, "because your mentor wants us to be allies." Finnick said showing his wrist where the bracelet Haymitch had given him sparkled underneath the sun.
She narrowed her eyes at it, "where'd you get that?"
"Where do you think?" You ask her; man this girl was slow! But before you could say anymore you see Peeta still standing on his platform before he gets pulled into the water by another tribute. You immediately dove into the water and swim towards the two. The saltwater didn't affect your eyes so you were able to see underwater.
You could see their thrashing bodies wiggling in the water. You took out a knife and thrusted it into the district 9's chest. He whirled around and struck your cheek dropping his hold on Peeta in the process. However his adrenaline only lasted so long and he eventually went into shock and sunk.
You grabbed Peeta's hand and hoisted his body onto your back. You kicked back to the cornucopia where Finnick waded into the water to help you pull him to shore. Peeta coughed up water and caught his breath looking up at you. "Thank—you." He said out of breath and you just nodded.
