Smut later in story.
————————————-You have always pictured yourself getting married, but never like this. You hadn't wanted the joyous day be used as a propo for district 13, you had wanted it to be a sweet moment between you and Finnick with minimal people. You had always hated the spotlight, and was shy by nature. But you supposed it couldn't be that bad, Because if at the end of the night you're married to the one you love, then the rest was irrelevant.
Effie helped you get dressed in your simple wedding dress, she did your makeup and hair too. When she proclaimed she was done you turned to stare at yourself in the mirror.
You thought you had never looked so beautiful, you'd have to thank Katniss for letting you borrow the dress later. You turn back to Effie, "thank you Effie for everything." You thank the former escort. She smiles and squeezes your hand.
"Of course dear, this is your special day." She says, "you deserve it." She tells you, "that man loves you."
You smile but then you began to have second thoughts. "But what if—what if he hates it? What—what if he doesn't wanna marry me anymore? Do I even deserve him at all?" Your insecurities made Effie have to run to fetch your fiancé.
She knocks on the door and Finnick opens it. "Hello Effie, shouldn't you be with (y/n)?" He asks confused.
"No. She needs you with her Finnick; she thinks she's not good enough for you." She explained and Finnick knew of your insecurities and was out the door and running down the hall to your room in no time.
He knocked on the door gently. "(y/n)? Sweetheart I'm here." He called through the door. You hear his voice through the door that your head rested against and it soothed you.
"Finnick? You shouldn't be here." He hears you say from behind the door.
The man shakes his head and sits down against the door. "No sweetheart, I'm right where I need to be." He tells you, "because someone told me that you think you're not good enough for me, and trust me sweetheart it is I who isn't worthy of you." He confesses to you.
His voice and his words were beginning to calm you down but you needed his voice a little while longer. "Can—can you keep talking?" You ask him through the door and he smiles.
"Of course." He said leaning his head against the door. "Do you remember when we were 12 and I kissed you for the first time?" He asked through the door.
You instantly knew. "It was the day before our first reaping ceremony." You reply.
He smiled, "that's right, and what did I promise you afterwards?" He asked you.
You smile once the memory came back to you fully, "that if we survived, you'd someday kiss me like that on our wedding day." You say.
"That's right sweetheart. Well today's the day and we both survived; so will you allow me to kiss you today and everyday for the rest of our life—please?" He asked, his 'please' was almost inaudible.
But then he hears your wonderful laugh and he falls backwards once the door slides open and he is met with your beautiful eyes. "Yes, Finnick Odair; I would love nothing more." You say and he stands up and picturing how beautiful you'd be in your wedding dress hadn't even come close to the real thing.
He cupped your cheeks in his hands, "you were always good enough for me; don't you ever forget that, do you understand me?" He asks you and you nod. He goes in to kiss you but ever the moment ruined Effie pushes in between the two of you.
"No kissing yet lovebirds, it's bad enough luck you saw her before the wedding; I believe you two can wait one more hour!" She says and Finnick separates from you.
