"Where are we at in the story so far?" March 7th asked as she gestured to a nearby information board near the center of Exalting Sanctum. "The story? Oh, you mean how far are we into our mission? Well, let's see..." Welt tapped his chin and looked at the denizens of the Luofu casually meandering around their home.
"We lost Kafka and Blade. Our messages to Dan Heng aren't going through, nor the Astral Express in general. That means we have no way to inform them of Jing Yuan's wishes to meet with Y/n. We met the Dragon Lady Bailu... We've helped Dan Shu, but she says there's more to do in regards to... something. She didn't specify, but there is this grand plan coming for those of kindred spirits." Stelle rehashed all of the most recent events and looked out in the distance with her nonchalant expression.
"It's ominous, definitely, but you heard her. She's dealt with a lot of scrutiny for her disabilities and only wants to help those around her. We should at least hear her out." Caelus offered and Welt nodded, "I agree, however, you should never let your guard down. We still have our main mission which is the threat of a Stellaron." He advised and nodded towards Stelle and Caelus.
"Can I trust that you both will continue to act accordingly."
Stelle turned towards him and snapped out of her daze with a firm nod, clutching the grip of her baseball bat with conviction. Caelus rested a hand on his hip and lugged the dormant lance on his shoulder confidently, nodding as well.
"You got it."
"So demanding! We've done a lot since we touched down. It's only been a full day... although it feels like things have been progressing pretty fast..." March tilted her head and looked over her shoulder ominously at no one in particular. "If we keep going any faster, we might miss something important, or y'know... not cherish any of the friends and memories we made along the way!" She crossed her arms with a slight pout and Stelle shrugged with a small smile.
"Y'know, if Dan Heng was here, he'd say: "There's no time for that, March, we need to act fast!!" And then he'd immediately set out in the direction he thinks is right without actually knowing for sure... and would end up right." She teased the girl, but she wasn't having any of it.
"Don't feel too bad, March. We're here on a Trailblaze Mission after all." Caelus shrugged before giving the girl a nudge and pulling out his phone. "Ugh... I guess we've spent too much time here. I hope we can locate Dan Heng soon. And reach Y/n." March ignored their terrible jokes and continued on her way with a newfound conviction that was brought on by an eerie sensation of being monitored closely.
"Close. You're almost there..." Dan Heng spoke softly as he leaned back in his seat and massaged his temples. You huffed in frustration and buried your face in your hands from how nauseating this whole situation was to you.
"I don't understand. Who am I, if not myself, Y/n L/n?" You asked him once again, hoping for a clearer answer than the nonsense he had been throwing at you. When you heard him draw a deep breath, your heart skipped and you tilted your head back ever so slightly to take a peek at his opposing figure.
"Y/n, we're in the same boat," He started as he stood up and walked over to your slumped over figure in the chair, "except... the answers I have for you don't make much sense to me either. What I do know is that where my story starts..." He trailed off and his piercing gaze held you captivated despite his ominous words.
