A month after...
It had been a month. A whole month had passed since the incident.
Micheal was fine, of course. I never had planned to actually hurt him. I just was mad and upset and he deserved to be put in his place.
It was Elizabeth I was concerned about. She hadn't complained in a month. A whole month of silence from her. Definitely unusual.
I walked through the halls of my house. It was silent. My body ached to hear the screams of terror. I needed to kill. I wanted to kill.
"Dad?"
I froze. It was the first word I had heard in a week. Since dinner that Evan helped with.
I turned around and was met with the eyes of the women I loved most. Unfortunately it was the creation of her, but the same comforting eyes.
"What?" I spat.
She gulped, her eyes avoiding my eyes. She was scared. Scared of me.
"I was wondering if you were able to take us to the pizzeria," she finally managed to get out of her mouth.
I sighed in annoyance. "You came to bother me about that?" I asked, glaring at Elizabeth.
She gulped, before nodding. I rubbed my eyes and sighed once more. "Fine. Get everyone ready and I do not want to hear a single word from anyone," I spat. "You understand me, girl?"
Elizabeth nodded quickly before rushing off to get Evan ready and alert Michael. This left me enough time to collect my...urges...before the kids returned. Enough time to allow me and Michael to decide where we stood.
Even though part of me wished I would have killed the boy.
Can't think like that anymore, William. You'll get a kid, today. While at the pizzeria.
That thought made me smile. Finally my urges would be able to rest at the thought of a kid losing their life thanks to me. It would be wonderful- feel heavenly. Almost as if this was a gift God gave me to take the lives of people. Perhaps I'm the grim reaper and nobody knows it yet.
Elizabeth reappeared with her brother's at her side. Michael, being his stubborn self, refused to make eye contact with me while Evan gripped Elizabeth's hand so hard I thought it would fall off.
At least it's not my hand.
"Get in the car," I said, my voice cold. The kids shuffled their way out to the garage, giving me one more moment to get myself together.
Just wait until you get to the pizzeria. Then you can do whatever it is you want to do.
I grabbed my car keys that were sitting out next to my phone when the screen lit up.
Reminder: Evan's 5th Birthday
Right. The wuss was turning 5. Hopefully Michael and his stupid friends would leave Evan alone today. Especially after the scare Michael had yesterday, he better not plan anything stupid.
I grabbed my long coat and headed out to the car. It was time for me to feed these urges. Time for me to get my head screwed on right and stop taking it out on the kids.
Yes, that's what it was. I wanted this so badly that I was willing to kill my own child in order to satisfy myself.
What a twisted person I am.
When I got into the car, I adjusted the mirrors, glancing at Michael. I smiled at his fear, feeling satisfied that I finally put the boy in his place.
"Happy birthday, Evan."
I pulled out and began driving to the pizzeria. Not knowing that this day had that in store.
Not knowing that rather than me satisfying my urges, I would leave with a child dead.
Not just any child.
My own child. Dead. With a brother who wished it was him.
