It has been months since Cloud left, though everyone has found out about Cloud's sudden disappearance. The old bullies didn't come back to torment Mari like they did before, it seems as if maybe, just maybe Kingsley and Jax are actually there to help her? Although it doesn't look like Cloud will come back soon, she's still happy being able to call and text her. She told him all about her new friend, Jax. Even if Jax was like an annoying fly to her, she still felt happy that he decided to become a friend of hers... Even if it meant him disappearing randomly. And due to Cloud's absence... The title of King and Queen of the school is open again, maybe some people will try their hand at taking it?
Mari is once again in the classroom, texting and being all lovey-dovey with Cloud until she suddenly feels a tap on her back, she immediately closes her phone and hides it. Jax leans closer and whispers into her ear.
Jax: "Hmm? What were you hiding?"
Mari immediately looks away and stares at the wall.
Mari: "H-Hiding? What do you mean I was hiding something?"
Mari tries to play it off but Jax can see right through her, Jax saw her texting but doesn't know who she was texting to.
Jax: "Oh c'mon, we've been friends for like... Months now, share some secrets with me, won't you?
Mari: "I wasn't hiding anything I was just... Um... Playing games, yeah!"
Jax starts laughing, does she actually think that he will believe her poorly created lies?
Jax: "Oh really? Our top 1 in class is out here playing games early in the morning and not... Studying for our quiz later?"
Mari smirks, she's prepared for this quiz all night... While texting Cloud for half the night of course.
Mari: "I studied all night yesterday so don't even think I'll fail this quiz!"
Jax: "That's cool and all but... Will you tell me who you were texting though? C'mon, it's not like I tell everyone things like these."
Mari: "It's... I just don't feel comfortable saying it? Okay?"
Jax: "Oh whatever."
Jax sits down beside her with a frown on his face and starts playing some games on his phone.
Mari: "How about you? Did you even study for the quiz?"
Jax: "Nope and I don't need to."
Jax says with pride, he definitely thinks he'll pass this test without even needing to study.
Mari: "Ugh.. If I bet you're 1 point off of failing..."
Jax: "Still not failing though"
Mari sighs, she didn't expect him to be this care free considering how he's in one of the most prestigious schools.
Mari: "Yeah but you could definitely be doing better if you spent even an ounce of time studying or something... All you're doing is just spending all of your time doing something that will never help you in life."
Mari says in a serious tone while Jax... Jax is playing his little game seriously, he can barely even hear Mari and he's absolutely sweating in the game.
Jax: "Uhuh, yep. I understand."
Mari sighs, pulls out her books and starts studying, she doesn't want anyone to see him texting with Cloud and wants to just have a peaceful life in school.
Mari: "If you're here to just be lazy then just go play somewhere else, I'm trying to study here."
Jax smirks mischievously, he decides to take a risk... After all, high risk high reward right?
Jax: "Study? Why didn't you study earlier then? Oh... Is it because you were just texting with... Cloud?"
Mari gets startled upon hearing this... How did he know? Did he actually see her texting with Cloud? Or... Or did he realize that the picture Kingsley took... It was after Cloud left?!
Mari: "W-What?! H-How did you... How did you find out?! Who told you?..."
"Bingo." Jax thought in his head, he didn't expect her to actually be this easy.
Jax: "Kingsley was the one who told me. He knows everything"
Mari: "K-Kingsley?! I... I thought he was on my side?! Why is he spreading these secrets?!"
Jax: "Mmm... I don't know, you're gonna have to find it out yourself."
Mari: "Then... Could you atleast bring me to him?"
She says with puppy eyes, Jax could barely withstand her charm.
Jax: "Nope, you're gonna have to find him yourself! Or if you don't then tomorrow... I'll probably bring you to him."
Mari: "Well then... Just tell me where to find him."
Jax: "You're on your own miss, Kingsley would kill me if I let you go to him without permission."
Mari looked at him with a puzzled face, permission? What is he?? Some sort of king?! Well... Maybe... He is the leader of the delinquents after all...
Mari: "What do you mean permission?..."
Jax: "If I do something without permission, I'll be reprimanded... Even if I'm the right hand man, he rules this place with an iron fist and I respect it, even if it means me not getting any benefits."
Mari: "Isn't that just... Cruel? You have to stand up for yourself y'know... You should be treated better than the others if you're such an important asset to him."
Jax: "Well, you're right but it's just your preference. I'm fine with being treated the same as others."
Mari: "Fine... Will you atleast tell me a hint that can lead me to Kingsley? Pretty please?"
She once again says with puppy eyes and a big frown on her face.
Jax: "Alright, Fine. I'll give you a hint since I'm soooooo nice. He isn't even here, and he's probably not coming here until tomorrow... He might not even come tomorrow, Haha."
Jax immediately bursts out into laughter, Mari being the most gullible person ever makes him unable to contain his laughter when she falls for one of his tricks.
Mari crosses her arms and looks away while pouting, Jax can clearly see how annoyed she is.
Mari: "W-Wait... What do you-... There's a possibility he might not even come tomorrow?!"
Jax: "You really think he'll come to school every day? He's a delinquent you know."
Mari: "W-Well... You're a delinquent and you come to school everyday, how about that then?!"
Jax: "I'm just a delinquent for fun, I'm more serious about my future than those brainless kids."
Mari: "I thought delinquents only cared about having fun and looking cool?"
Jax: "Do you really think we're just mindless idiots? Ask Cloud about what delinquents think of every once in a while."
Mari seems puzzled, Cloud? Why ask him? Cloud doesn't even care much about them and he's telling her to ask Cloud?
Mari: "What? What about Cloud?"
Jax chuckles a bit, he thinks to himself... "did that son of a bitch Cloud really not tell her?"
Jax: "Huh, nothing... Wait? Did you hear that?"
Jax immediately points behind her and Mari quickly turns around.
Mari: "Huh?! What?!"
She sees... Nothing. And then she turns around to see Jax running up the stairs again.
Mari: "Ugh... Not again... Jax!! Stop running away from me! You won't get away this time!"
Mari decided to stop letting him play those tricks on her, she ran after him to the rooftop... And there she met, the self proclaimed king of the school, Kingsley.
