"The sun and moon can never be together... Right?"
It had been a few years since Cloud's departure, Mari had gotten a bit better since then. She has a stable job and a few of her friends waiting for her in the city. She had just recently went back to her home town to reminisce about her most favorite memories, most of them including Cloud.
She was on the way back to the city to continue her work, she took the most obvious choice, a train. She was sitting down resisting the urge to sleep when she suddenly got a call from Kingsley.
Kingsley: "Heyyyy yooo, I kinda got a surprise for you... Come back fast!"
Before Mari could say anything, Kingsley immediately hung up. Mari knew Kingsley was gonna do something really stupid again. First it was him making a fake love letter and pretending Ernst wrote it, then it was him joking around about how he "likes" Mari.. Now, it'll probably be worse.
As soon as the very, very long train ride had finished, she got off at the usual station and tried to navigate her way through these unfamiliar streets, though she was slowly learning the path to her apartment.
On the way there, she tripped and her pink necklace that was given to her by Cloud had unfortunately broke. It was bound to happen but it still hurt Mari, enough for her to almost cry. The memories of Cloud were slowly fading away.
As soon as she got up to apartment, Kingsley was already waiting outside. He gave her a soft little smile before slowly pulling a little box out of his hands. Mari slowly takes the box, opens it and... It's a necklace with the moon on it!
Mari: "Kingsley... This is beautiful... You didn't have to.."
Kingsley: "Oh, I wasn't the one who bought it..."
Mari was a bit confused... It could be Ernst but he wouldn't buy something like this, so who? Kingsley could see the confusion on her face and he opened the door and slowly entered.
Kingsley: "He calls himself, the knight of the sun."
As soon as Kingsley got out of the way, Mari could see a familiar figure, he was wearing a necklace with the sun on it. And as soon as Mari realized... She ran up and hugged him.
???: "I guess I was wrong, the sun and moon can be together."
??? Said as they stared at the eclipse.
