Kingsley and Jax were smiling at Mari, they seemed to have not given any attention to Ernst... Mari on the other hand was frozen in fear, she wasn't expecting the boss of the delinquents to actually be here... And for her to have been talking so informally with him... While Ernst was looking at Kingsley and Jax with an emotionless look, seemingly unfazed by the situation...
The silence was broken by Kingsley, which made Mari even more nervous.
Kingsley: "So, I heard you were looking for me, correct?"
Mari could barely even look at him, nor could she speak... When she did... She spoke in a soft voice, almost like a whisper...
Mari: "Y-Y-Yes... Can you... Can you please... S-stop spreading rumors... About me?..."
Kingsley smirks, he loved seeing her be so scared and nervous.
Kingsley: "Rumors? About what? Oh... This?"
Kingsley shows her the picture of her in the train station sobbing uncontrollably while he smirks mischievously.
Kingsley: "This? Hm? This picture of you after Cloud left? Do you even think Cloud will come back?"
Mari says in a soft tone, it's clear she's scared but she's also a bit angry.
Mari: "S-Stop saying those things about Cloud!... He's... He's a good person... Unlike you!"
Mari was trembling... She anticipated Kingsley to lash out at her but he spoke at a soft tone.
Kingsley: "Mmm... Yeah, he probably is but it's a bit shitty of him to leave you, am I right?"
Ernst gets in front of Mari and looks at Kingsley with a bit of an angry face, then he spoke in a emotionless tone.
Ernst: "Back off Kingsley, cant you see how uncomfortable Mari is? You're just making things worse."
Mari hides behind Ernst.
Kingsley looks up at him, obviously pissed off that he's fighting back against him.
Kingsley: "This is a matter between adults, you're just a lowly delinquent. Go away and I'll give you a chance to redeem yourself soon."
Ernst walks closer to Kingsley, obviously taking his threat as a joke.
Ernst: "What'll happen if I don't go away? Huh? You gonna throw a punch at me?"
Kingsley scoffs and slowly backs off.
Kingsley: "You aren't a prince charming, Ernst. I know you're doing this cause you like Mari. But this is a serious talk between me and her."
Jax whispers something to Kingsley's ear, prompting him to walk away slowly.
Kingsley: "Our business isn't done yet, Mari. I'll show you how shitty Cloud really is!"
And with that... They're gone. Mari is still trembling, fearful of what'll happen later on but she speaks up in a soft tone.
Mari: "T-Thank you Ernst... Why did you decide to... Protect me?"
Ernst smiles at her while still looking emotionless.
Ernst: "I just felt like it, I'll protect you if they ever come back."
Mari smiles softly at him... She can't believe someone would actually be willing to help her... Then suddenly the bell rings, Mari and Ernst exchange glances and run to their respective classrooms.
