Chapter 1 New Home, New Life
━━━━━━━━☆★☆━━━━━━━━
New town, new school, new home and new life. That's what Luke Holden said to his daughter, Eleanor when they moved into Derry first.
It's been two freaking weeks since they started their 'new life' in this town and the people who live here already treat Eleanor like trash.
She only made friends with a girl called Beverly from school. The redhead was the only person who treated Eleanor nicely.
Eleanor waited the last ten minutes until she decided to look for Beverly, who is supposed to be here by now. She walks through the bunch of students to find her friend. But for her bad luck, she sees Henry Bowers and his minions: Belch aka Reginald Huggins, Vic Criss, and Patrick Hockstetter near the lockers.
"Oh, shit." She curses under her breath before slipping past them trying her best to be unnoticed to them, especially to Henry who is now standing there with his arms folded. He has been chasing after her all this time, because he thinks that the new girl is a slut who sleeps with every guy. He's expecting her to join his bully team and join their dirty work.
Well, it is clear that Eleanor doesn't have any psychological problem to join them. The moment she said that to his face, she became a target of him and his friends.
Eleanor sighs in relief as she successfully passes them, but it doesn't hang on very long when Henry's friends notice her through the crowd of students. Belch and Patrick smile malevolently at her, and Vic merely gives her a threatening stare.
As Patrick reaches Henry to give the news about the blonde, she quickly slides into the nearest bathroom to save herself.
"Well, at least now you'll smell better!" A voice yells at someone inside the bathroom.
Eleanor immediately recognizes the voice. It's Gretta Keene. The female version of Henry. But she's better than Henry.
"Gross." Another girl says.
"Let's go, girls." Gretts tells to her followers and yells to her target once again. "Have a nice summer, Beaver-ly!"
The girls walk out laughing to meet the blonde and she aims her cold glare at Gretta. "What did you do now?"
"Oh. Look who's here to save her friend." Gretta sings and lowers her head to the blonde. "Since your pathetic friend forgot her place, I kindly took the pleasure to remind her. Take my advice and don't go near her or you'll get addicted to her new perfume."
They all start to laugh at Gretta's supposed to be humorous joke as they walk past the new girl.
Eleanor walks further into the bathroom. "Beverly?"
"I'm here." The familiar red haired girl walks out of a stall with her backpack which is now completely covered with trash.
"You Okay?" The blonde asks her, concerned.
"Yeah. But my backpack is not." Beverly shows her backpack in disgust.
After helping Beverly to clean her bag, they bid their goodbyes to each other and take their separate ways with the promise of spending the summer together.
Eleanor exits the main door to notice Mrs. Ripsom, standing next to a police officer, with Sheriff Bowers, Henry's dad, a few feet away. It looks like she's expecting to see her disappeared daughter, Betty Ripsom to come out of school.
Derry has been taking down children for the past weeks and the police still couldn't find any evidence whether the missing children are actually lost or dead. And Betty Ripsom has become the latest victim of it.
Eleanor turns to walk away until her gaze stops at a gang of boys getting bullied by Henry and his goons. She recognises the faces. They're her classmates. Eddie Kaspbrak, Richie, Stanley Uris and Bill Denbrough.
Patrick walks out behind them. Without a warning, Henry grabs Richie and pushes him into Stanley, knocking them both to the ground, making Stanley's hat falls off.
Patrick picks it up. "Nice Frisbee, flamer."
"Give it back!" Stanley shouts.
Patrick laughs evilly and throws it through the window of a passing school bus. "Fucking losers!"
Belch burps at Eddie as Henry bumps into Bill as he and his friends walk away. "Loser."
"Y-you suck, Bowers!" Bill stutters angrily.
Knowing better than to pick a fight with Henry Bowers, Eddie hisses. "Shut up, Bill."
Henry, Belch, and Patrick turn around as Eleanor makes her way to them, hiding herself from Henry and his followers.
Henry says mockingly. "You s-s-s-say something, Bi-Bi-Bi-Billy? You got a free ride this year 'cause of your little brother." He approaches Bill. "Ride's over, Denbrough."
"Let him go, you moron!" Eleanor grits her teeth, walking out of her hiding spot.
"Blonde. Good to see you again." Henry smirks at her which the girl immediately regrets getting in between this situation. He then looks at her with a somewhat threatening smile and puts his hand on her lower cheek, gently rubbing his thumb. "We do have a talk. Don't we?"
"Take your dirty hand off me!" She shouts and shoves his hand off her cheek.
"Sharp tongue. I like it." Henry smirks and takes a step forward, making her take a step back vise versa. But then he stops.
Eleanor follows his gaze to see his father, who takes off his glasses and looks at his son with a stern facial expression that says, 'Leave her alone, son.'
"This summer's gonna be a hurt train for you and your faggot friends." He runs his hand along his tongue and wipes it on Bill's cheek and turns to the blonde. "You're lucky today, blonde." Then he walks off to Belch's car with Belch and Patrick, where Vic is waiting, and the four of them get in the car.
"I wish he'd go missing." Richie says as the blonde sighs in relief.
"He's probably the one doing it." Eddie says.
"Th-th-thank you for saving us." Bill thanks me.
Eleanor shakes her head and points at the sheriff. "We survived because of Henry's father.
