Chapter 31The Letter

━━━━━━━━☆★☆━━━━━━━━

It's been weeks after returning from Derry. Bill happily agreed to share his apartment, since Eleanor had nowhere to go and the hotels aren't very comfortable enough according to him. She really doesn't care about staying anywhere, if she can spend her time with him. She heard that Dylan has finally moved on, and in a relationship with a reporter. It's good to say that he's totally civil with the blonde.

After filling hot coffee into two mugs, Eleanor walks into Bill's office room to see him working on his new story.

He looks up from his laptop and flashes a smile. "Hey."

"Hey. I brought coffee." She says, placing the two coffee mugs. He takes off his glasses, getting up from his seat, walking to her. "Did I bother you?"

Wrapping his arms around her waist, he places his chin on her shoulder. "Y-you never bothered me."

"So you finished your masterpiece?"

"Just the f-first chapter." He whispers to her ear.

She turns around, facing him. "I wanna read it first as soon as you finish it."

"All yours, my lady." He states, pecking on her lips.

Placing her hand on his face, she stares at his blue eyes looking down at her with full of enthusiasm.

"What?"

"I'm happy. That we're finally together."

He presses his forehead against hers. "Me too."

Brushing her lips into his, Eleanor wraps her arms around his neck. Without thinking twice, he responses, kissing back. It is a warm and gentle kiss, until his phone starts to ring, making him stop and groan.

She giggles, gently patting on his cheek. "Go, get it, Billy."

He pouts, before walking to his table and looking at the ID. "It's Mike."

Eleanor takes a sip into her coffee, taking a seat as he answers the phone, putting the speaker on.

"Mike?"

"Hi. I thought I'd checkup on you two." He answers from the other line. "And you know? See if you've learned how to finish a book for once."

Bill laughs lightly while she takes another sip of her coffee. "I just wrote the first chapter. I think I know where I'm actually going this time."

"Don't worry, Mikey. He's writing under my supervision this time." Eleanor confirms.

Mike laughs on the other side. "You hear her man, you got back up this time. No more sad endings."

Bill smiles at his words, maintaining their eye contact. "I know, Mikey. I feel like I'm the luckiest man in the world."

Eleanor looks down at her mug, feeling the red shades taking place on her cheeks.

He pauses for a few seconds, before speaking again. "Can I ask you a question?"

"Sure." Mike says.

Bill runs his hand through his hair. "Why do you think we're not forgetting, you know, like last time?"

"Maybe because it's dead." Mike answers.

"Or maybe because we have more we want to remember that we want to forget." He adds.

"I like that one." Bill says, grabbing the blonde's coffee mug and taking a sip and she crosses her arms, giving him a glare, which he responds with a wink. "Did you decide what to do about leaving Derry?"
