Chapter 13 Losers Reunion
━━━━━━━━☆★☆━━━━━━━━
Eleanor finishes eating the cereal bowl when the phone starts to ring. She groans before getting up and answering it. "Hello?"
"El, it's me Bill."
"Hey, Bill." A smile fills up her face.
"I-It got Beverly." He shutters, on the other end, making her smile fall immediately as she realises what he's talking about and it is replaced with a horrified expression.
"Are you serious, Bill?"
"Yeah, El. It got Beverly. Can you meet up on the way to the Well House?"
"Okay. I'll meet you there." Hanging up the phone, she heads for the front door when dad suddenly steps in front of her.
"And just where do you think you're off to?"
"Out with my friends."
"El, you can't go. I'm trying to protect you." He says with a sad smile. "Remember, what I told you all this time?"
Staring hard at him, she shouts. "Protect me? By keeping me locked inside this hellhole?! I'm sorry, but the only people that were actually trying to protect me were my friends. And you made me turn my back on them when I really needed them. So I'm going."
Eleanor walks right past him, right out the front door, with dad chasing after her. "You get back here! El, you're grounded until we leave this town."
Glancing back at him while leaving the apartment, she yells. "Sorry, dad, I gotta go save my friends! I love you!"
Arriving at the Well House, the group dismount and leave their bikes in the street and walk up to the house.
"Guys, spikes." Bill recalls, picks up two metal poles with spikes on the end and puts them together when Eddie removes his fanny pack and tosses it aside. Richie picks up a beer bottle, smashes it against the stairs, and casually throws it aside.
Eleanor picks up a metal pole with a spike on the end and turns to Mike who is holding a gun. "What's that?
"It is used to kill sheeps from this gun at granddad's farm."
"Smart."
"Let's go." Bill says to everyone, before linking their hands. They enter the foreboding house together, until Ben speaks up.
"Stan?"
They turn around to face Stanley, who is just standing at the door.
"Stan, we all have to go." Bill says, but Stanley continues standing where he is, afraid to follow us inside.
"Beverly was right. If we split up like last time, that clown will kill us one by one. But if we stick together, all of us, we'll win. I promise." Eleanor assures him.
Stanley, now understanding that teamwork is their chance of helping Beverly, steps inside and joins the group, causing the blonde to give a nod at him, which he returns with a nervous smile.
Bill leads them into the basement where he last saw the well during their previous incursion.
As they walk up to the well, Richie says. "Hey, Eddie, you got a quarter?"
"I wouldn't want to make a wish in that fucking thing." Eddie rolls his eyes.
Ben peering down into the well. "Beverly?!"
Ben's voice echoes as Richie looks at him as if to say, 'Ben, do you really think she can hear you from down there?'
Eleanor snickers at them with amusement when Mike speaks.
