Martin, since the American Civil War, hated the Confederacy and the intuition of slavery. Follow the Fort Pillow Massacre, Martin burn his Confederate outfit and wants nothing more to do with the Confederacy. During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Martin killed a reanimated Nathan Forrest and slaughter his entire reanimated corps and claimed revenge for those that were murdered at Fort Pillow and brought himself closure. But, since Barnett was found in Imperial Ranks and was responsible for the Shadow Corps' foundation, It reopened Martin's old wound and now swore vengeance.

The Fleet arrives on Amazonia Prime to drop off the Amazons and informed the citizens that the Amazons are in support for the Rebellion. Kira stopped by her place and packed up for her journey to be a Jedi. Among the things she packed was the Skywalker Lightsaber. According to Master Garza, she said after the Rebels left Cloud City, the Amazons arrive briefly. She saw the saber sitting on a box next to a group of workers of Smelting Core D-52. Garza, without anyone know, took the saber and hid it in her cloak. When the Amazons returned, Garza gave it to Kira, who told her to hide it in her home so the Empress or her daughters find it. She found a container used to store a single lightsaber and kept in a safe place, out of the way of prying eyes. She hasn't messed with it or used to play around. Back at the ship, she began to unpack in a shared room with Juchi. Both Alex & Jay came in to check up on her and said she is doing okay. Then, she pulled out a lightsaber case, which caught their attention. Jay asked what's inside the case, to which she opened it and there, sitting in the case, untouched, is the Skywalker Lightsaber. Alex was surprised to see Anakin's Lightsaber again, thinking it was destroyed or kept by a collector. Jay, taking the saber out of the case and examining it, asked "Where did you get this?" She explained that Master Garza got it on Bespin and gave it to her to hide it. "Does that lightsaber have any importance, Master?" After igniting it, showing a blue blade, he replied "Yes, it does. This lightsaber belongs to Luke Skywalker and his father before him. I'm sure you have seen recording of it before during training." Then, she remembered being with Master Garza and seeing recordings of Anakin in battle during the Clone Wars in action and in training. Jay was impressed that the saber was in good working order after a year since it's disappearance. Knowing the Empire, if they arrive, attack and board the ship, Jay decide to take it to a safe place so the Empire doesn't come looking for it. That place was Takodana, at Maz Kanata's Castle. He was there before during his journey after training under Master Qui Gon to to retain his identity after death. It was also there that he met Maz Kanata. Jay contacted Hunter and have Tech and Echo prepare the Havoc Marauder for a trip to Takodana. Arriving on Takodana, Jay and his group left to Maz's Castle while Rhiss, Edge, Karr & Abby, who recently joined Squad 99, stayed behind and watched the ship. Entering Maz's Castle, Jay and his group met Maz, who later found a quiet place to talk. It was there that Jay told her that Kira has a lightsaber belong to Skywalker and asked her to hide the lightsaber here from the Empire. At first, Kanata refused; saying that Jay, seeing that he is getting old, had been fighting for too long, and he needed to go home and to be with his kids. He said he wished he could, but he has unfinished business with the Empire. When Kira asked Maz what did she mean, she explained that she saw evil take many form; from the Sith, to the Nihil, the Separatists and finally to the Empire. Before she could go on, she looked at Kira. She adjusted her variable lens corrective goggles, crawled up onto the table, and looked into Kira's eyes, saying that she had family who has been through war. Those family members were Kira's ancestors, Revan, Bastilla Shan, Satelle Shan, who fought during the many wars many years ago, and her mother during the Clone Wars. Kira understood what Maz said and told her that she will not end up like her mother who died at the hands of an Inquisitor and his ancestor Revan, who fell to the dark side and became Darth Revan. Convinced by Kira's words of confidence, Maz climbed down from the table and told Jay that she will hide Skywalker's Lightsaber. With the lightsaber in Maz's care, Jay and his group returned to the Marauder and return to the fleet.
