It was finally time.
Time for sorting.
I wondered what the new transfer students would be sorted into. If they're in Slytherin, then... I would have to tell Professor Dumbledore.
Me, Ron and Hermione stood in front of the large doors. The new transfer students were nearby and they caught notice. An elfish boy waved at us with a grin, I think his name was Leo Valdez.
Finally, the doors opened and we walked to our respective tables. The new students stood with the first-years despite their older age.
At last, Professor Mcgonagall stood up and rolled open a scroll, she cleared her throat and spoke;
"Good morning, dear students of Hogwarts. The war between You-Know-Who was a rather dark one. We had lost many people. Great wizards who risked themselves so many others could live. Alas, that risk tore them away from us. In honor of the loss of Fred Weasley and Colin Creevey, two great Gryffindors, we have decided that the banners of their house shall stay up in the dining-area until the winner of the House-Cup has been decided.
On other news, we have many more returns and many more new students. If you look at the crowd of first-years, you may notice some older children. They are transfer students from the Academy Of Hecate in Greece. Their academy is perhaps, even more, ancient than Hogwarts. Therefore, note that they may be even more powerful.
Now, let the sorting begin."
All the first-years got sorted, a majority in Hufflepuff while others scattered around in the rest of the houses. When Professor Mcgonagall closed the scroll, leaving the transfer students to stand and wait, I was confused. Were they not gonna be sorted?
Then, she pulled out a much shorter scroll.
She began with the kid called Percy Jackson. Weird, usually we go by alphabetically.
Jackson strode to the stool with confidence. He sat down and for the first time in forever, (☃️☃️☃️.) the Sorting Hat spoke it's thoughts out loud.
"You have suffered much, much, misery. But, you never faltered. You stand brave and courageous with your deeds. Two great parts of Gryffindor. Yet, you have ambition. An ambition to ensure safety, to fight against those that ruined your life."
I swore I heard Jackson whisper the two words I had told the hat before,"Not Slytherin..."
The hat still seemed to be sifting through his memories.
"Ah, you have suffered even worse than I had thought. Yet, you still strode on and ended up victorious. Though, you did awaken something destructive. "
"It was by accident," He mumbled.
What was? Did he awake... Him?
"But, I say, you belong in... GRYFFINDOR!"
Loud applause rumbled throughout the halls.
Damnit.
Finally, everyone else got sorted. The same thing happened for all of them.
Hazel: "You sacrificed yourself, whether you wished it or not, you were forced to lose your dearest companions. Yet, you remained strong and steadfast.
Gryffindor will do just nicely."
Frank: "You were willing to end your own life for people that wronged you. You are courageous and strong. Gryffindor."
Annabeth: "I would say Ravenclaw, but... I believe Gryffindor will do you better as you survived with only courage and strength at an age, where no one should have to."
Reyna: "You fought against the very place you loved, you were shown as a traitor. You suffered abuse from the one you loved most. Yet, you managed to find another to love, you changed that place into something better. You forged on despite losing your dearest friend. You have shown bravery and ambition. But, I believe you would rather be with your friends, yes? GRYFFINDOR!"
Leo: "You smile to hide your tears, you hid behind machines, you were ignored and considered a comedian by your friends. Yet, you still died for them. Gryffindor."
Piper: "The daughter of love herself. You were considered a thief, a spoiled brat. Still, you worked hard, you rose as a beautiful dove of power. You are ambitious and courageous. Gryffindor."
Thalia: "You remained steadfast by your oath, you protected your brother who could not protect himself, you remained strong even after losing your own blood. Gryffindor."
Nico: "Hmm. This is a hard one. You suffered more than anyone I have ever sorted. You harbored ill-feelings towards the place that took you in. You wished revenge. You may have changed in the end, but, you are still angry. You have tried to retrieve what you missed the most, yet you found something else. You did not understand whether you wanted it, but you took it under your wing. You strode back to a place of suffering and pure misery to protect it. You were enclosed, slowly dying with no hope. You had to watch the one you loved be stolen away by another. Yet, you remained ambitious. You remained strong. You found reasons to protect those you love.
Slytherin."
