So I noticed that I didn't really show much of the demigods' day at hoggywarts and I'm not sure what to name the next chapter.
Well, here's an idea!
Filler episodes, I'll try posting one per four to three official chapters and all of them will take place during a timeframe mentioned in the A/N.
They will, also, be canon to the fanfiction.
Enjoy, my little birbs. (How do y'all like the nickname?)
This takes place before the arrival of Magnus and Alex, so about some time after they introduced eachother to the duo.
The demigods made their way out of Magnus' room and Leo closed the behind him door as he had left last.
The door shimmered and broke down into a yellow, glittery power, leaving only a wall with a large Frey symbol behind.
"Oh, crud. Did I do something?" Leo asked, his eyes opened in surprise.
"Nah, probably just some more meddling from the gods to make our quest less easy," Percy said, slightly miffed he couldn't visit Magnus, again.
The guy was sheepish at first, but he was nice enough and Percy enjoyed talking about Annabeth's Top 10 Embarrassing Moments with him.
"Well, we should check our schedules now, see what we got," Annabeth said, opening the door to her room and grabbing her grey bag.
She unzipped it and put her hand inside of the bag, pulling a piece of paper out.
She read outloud,
"Defense Against Dark Arts,
Transfiguration,
Charms,
Potions,
Lunch,
Free Period, and then,
Care For Magical Creatures.
That's all."
Leo whistled and Frank nodded at him,
"Those are tons of classes."
"Really?" Annabeth asked, clearly forgetting she was the smartest of the group and one of the only two actually attending college.
Hazel stepped up and said,
"I took a look at Frank and I's schedule last night, it seems like we all got identical classes."
"That sounds nice and all, but what were you do doing last night, together?" Nico said.
The others flinched, they had all forgotten about Nico, Thalia and Reyna.
The trio sat on the sofas.
Thalia and Reyna sat beside eachother on the long sofa while Nico reclined on the singular one.
Frank and Hazel blushed,
"No, what I meant was that before we'd all gone to bed. We stayed up a bit after you went into your room," Hazel tried to amend her slip-up.
Nico frowned,
"Hopefully the "We" means you and the other guys, not just you and Frank."
"Hey! Atleast, I don't berate you about your weekly check-up sessions with Will! What sort of check-up takes over two hours?" Hazel snapped back.
That shut Nico up and made Reyna stare at Nico, questioningly.
Everyone else began cracking up.
Leo wiped a tear from his eye;
"I mean, she does have a good point."
Percy chuckled and walked over to Nico.
He stood beside him and ruffled his black hair,
"Wow, you grew up quick!"
Nico smacked the older boy's hand away and averted his eyes from the others.
Reyna felt as though this was going a bit too far and spoke up,
"When's the first class?"
"About five minutes, we should head to the classes now," Annabeth answered, feeling the same way and purposefully subtracting twenty minutes away from the actual time.
The nine changed into the black uniform and grabbed their individual backpacks which were all black, except for Annabeth's grey and Percy's eye-murdering blue.
"I feel like that's a violation of several health-codes, my eyes hurt," Nico said, staring at Percy's bag.
Percy shrugged.
They opened the giant doors and made their way to the DADA classroom.
...
...
...
After about ten minutes, the group found the classroom.
There were still fifteen minutes to go until their class started so they found some seats.
Sadly, they had to be separated.
Nico managed to find a seat beside Harry and nodded politely.
Reyna and Thalia went to the back and sat beside eachother.
Percy and Annabeth sat somewhere beside Hermione (Hermione sat beside Ron who was beside Harry who was beside Nico).
Leo and Hazel sat beside the Malfoy kid that Nico had spoken with.
Draco looked over at Nico and grinned while waving at him.
Nico smiled, albeit awkwardly, and waved back.
Harry frowned.
That kid's a Slytherin and he's already acquainted with a Deatheater's son? That's kinda suspicious... Harry thought to himself.
Frank found a seat beside a Slytherin girl called Pansy Parkinson while Piper sat beside a Hufflepuff kid called Joshua Williams.
Some time passed and Percy whispered to Annabeth,
"Five minutes left, huh?"
Annabeth smirked in reply.
Hermione overheard them and wondered what he meant. She realized that she hadn't really spoken to them as much and thought it would be nice to get acquainted.
Sadly, their new professor entered the room.
"Hope this new bloke won't get cursed this time," Harry said to Ron.
"Hey, he could be another Umbridge, keep your hopes for later," Ron replied.
Harry nodded.
Thud.
Thud.
Clack.
Clack.
Huh?
Those didn't sound like human footsteps.
Hermione gasped.
"A centaur!"
"Indeed," Chiron said.
He walked to the front of the class and grabbed the chalk sitting on the teacher's table.
He scribbled down,
"Mr. Chiron."
"You may call me either Professor Chiron or, more preferably, Chiron," He said, his deep voice echoing through the class.
"As of today, I shall be your new Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher. I do hope everyone is cooperative.
Now, I assume some of you may know me as I used to be a teacher back in Greece, nowadays I travel and search for openings. I had quit my old post a week or so ago after a lack of job-openings and had decided, since I've taught for fifty years now, it's time to pass down the torch. Now, a more suitable candidate teaches at my old class. His name is Tyson."
Chiron ended his speech with a smile.
Percy grinned,
"Huh, I should congratulate him, soon."
"Now, many of you may be familiar with a creature called a Hydra," Chiron began teaching,
"This dragon-like beast has a long, complicated ancestry. It began with a singular American Double-Headed Dragon that mated with several, yes several, British Immortal Dragon.
The American dragon was actually not a dragon, it was more of a similar species that had a lack of wings and weaker fire.
Now, the abilities of the British dragon were very peculiar. It could be killed, yes, of course, nothing is truly immortal, after all."
His eyes had a knowing glint as he paused and scanned the classroom, stopping to stare at Percy.
He looked away and clasped his hands together, continuing;
"It was deemed immortal due to it's quick regeneration. Every scratch, every nick and every slice would be healed the second it was afflicted.
Now, as the name suggests, the American dragon had two heads.
Since they are from two different regions, as well as species, the DNA of the American dragon mixed with the British dragon and ruined it's regeneration.
Thus, the hydra was born.
It could still heal, yes, but it could only heal it's head and duplicate it.
If you wish, you may note this down."
A scratch of quills and several eager heads looked up at the old teacher.
Ah.
Now, Chiron remembered why he continued his training at camp despite the losses.
He smiled and said,
"Now, I shall teach you how to defeat it as in some countries, a few strong wizards use the Imperio curse to control them."
He looked around the class and clapped his hands together.
"Percy, please come up here."
Percy sighed and got up to the front.
"Yes?"
"I'll be needing a demonstration as this is a rather complicated spell."
"Of course, it is," Percy mumbled underneath his breath.
He stuffed his hands into his large pockets and pulled his wand out.
"What's the spell, Teach?" He asked.
The class stared at him for his use of slang.
"Now, this is a form of Transfiguration. So, on the off-chance I am not available, you may ask Professor McGonagall for help," Chiron said.
He looked to Percy,
"Please repeat after me and push your wand forward in a stabbing motion when I clap.
Ahem:
Bellonas."
"Bellonas," Percy repeated.
Chiron clapped once and Percy thrust his wand forward.
Chiron moved onto the next words,
"Legium."
"Legium."
The wand in Percy's hand began to shimmer and he felt the weight of his pen in his pocket get lighter.
His wand elongated and turned into his beloved sword, Riptide.
Whispers and yelps of surprise began across the classroom.
"Now, this spell was discovered by a British wizard who was studying various forms of magic in the ancient lands of Greece," Chiron said, taking Riptide from Percy's hand.
Percy grinned as he let Chiron take the sword and said,
"That was surprisingly easy!"
"Of course it was, you pronounced the spell perfectly and you have Greek blood running through you," Chiron said, his last bit made the class murmur with questions.
"Now, this was a spell made specifically for Greek people as there are an abundance of monsters running about in the country, but the Greek wizards and witches don't use wands so, it was tweaked to let other ethnicities use it, as well.
Now, all you have to do is envision a weapon and it shall be so. The weapon will turn back into your wand if you just tap the tip twice, softly.
I do suggest only making weapons that have noticeable tips as I'd rather you don't lose your wands, permanently.
Now, please team up into groups of three and try to get a weapon."
Percy nudged Chiron and whispered,
"Why did it give me Riptide?"
"It sensed your liking for the sword and transformed into it."
"But, why did it take my actual sword?"
"Most likely due to your godly blood giving the spell a stronger push."
Percy nodded.
He went back to his seat and asked Annabeth,
"Wanna partner with me, Wise Girl?"
"Sorry, Seaweed Brain, I already partnered up with Hermione and Piper," Annabeth said, an apologetic look on her face.
Percy shrugged and joined up with Leo and Frank.
Nico had teamed up with Harry and Ron.
He shot a sorry look towards Draco and the latter shrugged.
Hazel had joined Reyna and Thalia.
Nico pulled his wand out and watched his teammates do the same.
"What was the spell again?" Ron asked.
"Uhh, Bellona something?" Harry said, stupidly.
Nico sighed.
Hades have mercy.
The other two saw Nico's annoyed expression and felt slightly irritated.
They remembered how Professor Mcgonagall had called them extremely powerful, maybe that statement was getting into his head.
"Hey, do you know the spell?" Ron asked, somewhat rudely.
Nico flinched at his tone, it reminded him of the drunks he and Bianca would bump into sometimes.
"Bellonas Legium," He said and thrust his wand forward.
It shimmered and turned into his black Stygian sword.
"Yes, I do know the spell," He replied, curtly.
The other two looked away and followed suit.
Ron had no weapon appear, his wand only elongated and shrunk back into it's normal length.
Harry thrust his wand forward so hard it flew out and he had to walk over to Chiron's feet, er, hooves, and pick them up.
"Sorry, Professor," He mumbled and Nico bit back a laugh.
Chiron chuckled softly which made Harry get more irritated from embarrassment.
"That's a, er, cool sword," Ron was saying as Harry plopped back into his seat, annoyed.
"Thanks," Nico said.
"So, what was your name again? Nicholas?"
Nico sighed,
"Honestly, I don't get why everyone says that. It's just Nico!"
"Oh, maybe 'cause it's usually short for Nicholas?" Harry said, an eyebrow raised.
"I'm not even sure if Nicholas is an Italian name, though," Nico said.
"Italian? Aren't you Greek?" Ron asked.
"Nah, all nine of us were born someplace else, but we moved to Greece early on 'cause either we had noone to rely on, or our parent wanted us to have a decent education," Nico said, the nine had already agreed on a good backstory before leaving.
They heard a bell ring and Chiron said,
"Well, homework is to practice this spell tonight."
Nico said to the others,
"Well, see you in the next class."
These transfers really are complicated! Ron and Harry thought to themselves.
