Girls Generation's first subunit was announced in December of 2011 and crafted forward in January and February of 2012.However I had know interest whatsoever in joining a sub-unit.

The only unit I wanted to do was the 10 of us or maybe do one with just me Jessica and Taeyeon. The power vocalist. But since this group was pushed by Tiffany I knew it wasn't going to happen.Jessica wasn't doing this group anyway. When I asked her why she turned it down, she told me she had been promised to be in a duo with her sister Krystal. She was way more interested in something like that. The door was still open for me since I was one of the first members SM wanted for this group. In the end, I couldn't do it cause I absolutely hate "Twinkle". Like I mentioned earlier I LOVE a real chorus. You know a build up and then new heights are released.Like"Into the new world" ,one of the best." "The Boys" doesn't have a chorus but somehow hits very hard anyway. When It was clear to Taeyeon and Tiffany they couldn't get me to lay vocals on the songs they had been working on, the spot in the group was taken by Seohyun.

So three girls were doing a sub-unit. Yoona was filming "Love Rain" Yuri was filming "Fashion King" Hyoyeon was doing "Dancing with the stars" Sunny did a musical called "Catch me if you can"(Haha,Well get to more of that later)and Sooyong was hosting "TV Entertainment tonight".What was I going to do? Even Jessica was acting. Her drama "Wild Romance" had dropped that winter. I knew I wanted to do some acting too. People asked me more and more why I wasn't out there doing stuff like my members. I started to feel the itch for acting that  January 2012,It was time. We had reached the highest peak and I felt like now was a good time to divide and conquer. For my first acting other than guest cameos had to be big.

I never do things small you know.I knew it would be smart to act with a guy that was famous, young and hot in the industry.Lee Minho was the perfect fit.He blew up with "Boys over Flowers"When we blew up with "Gee" and his drama "City Hunter " got big ratings as well.
His next drama was a TV show called "Faith". The plot was about a woman who falls in love with a younger man who grabs her and time travels back to his time to the Joseon dynasty. My role was a supporting role in the show.  I had auditioned 4 times and had two screen tests and they were 99% sure about me.My gut feeling told me this wasn't it. So I pulled out and the role of princess went to actress Yoo Ah-In.

After the drama was released it received a lukewarm response. In the media, I read that the cast members and crew had not been paid months after the drama's release. The production company had a huge debt due to rescheduled shootings and actors dropping out.A lot of people involved with the drama demanded answers. Things spiraled and in the end, the director of the tv-show took his own life. I was glad I had trusted my instincts.

After I  pulled out of "Faith" the k-drama "Big" came to me. This was going to include popular actor Gong Yoo who became famous for Train to Busan and Goblin who was back after his military enlistment.
"Big" was written by the Hong sisters who would have a big impact on my career, later on.
My role as Lee Se-young was not a big splash but I had a lot of fun on set.Just standing on your mark was a big deal for me. How to walk, lean in and turn came so naturally to me.It came from my experiences dancing and doing commercials.
Gong Yoo is 11 times more attractive in person and he had a chemical influence on my brain where I would forget about Donghae for a second or two. Definition of Charisma. That man could not ever be anything else other than being an actor. The girls were all jealous of who I was going to work with. We had all watched "Coffee Prince" in our debut days.

"Oh wow I can't believe a member from Girls generation is in this drama." The director said at the first table read." I saw your LG commercial on the billboards."
It was quite obvious where all the attention was going to land and it caused a bit of a riff between me and the lead actress.I remember standing on set and crew members all turned to me and I thought.'Oh please don't give me special attention in front of her I am not the star of the show'.It wasn't really a bad situation, the lead just gave me  the cold shoulder.
Her manager even told me during the press junket to not stand next to Gong Yoo. Out in the world, people were easily intimidated by our name.Maybe I should have seen it as a compliment. The show also featued Miss-A Suzy after her acting debut in "Dream High".
"Big" did ok in the ratings but what the show is most famous for is not me,but it's infamous confusing ending.
