THIRTY-FIVE: Queen Aphmau

Kawaii-Chan's POV:

Only Brielle knows what happened between Zane and I but she's been trying to convince me to hear him out and remove the banishment just until he explains himself.

I wouldn't do it.

It's been two months since I last seen him and a few people have questioned it but I simply told them he had to go and see his father and wouldn't be back just yet.

Everyone in the castle knows what is wrong and have been almost avoiding me, I wasn't taking my anger out on them but I looked like a moody ball of anger and annoyance.

I've completely focused on being Queen of Tu'la and when I asked about the pendant and necklace, I told them that I had lost them while out and about one day.

Zane's attempted reaching out a few times but I didn't let him and burned all the notes and letters he sent or just sent them back without another word.

I don't want anything to do with him.

"Your majesty? Would you like some food? Or to go for a walk?" Brielle asked from outside the room, I stayed silent and placed my chin on arm and stared at the window.

I had finished my meetings today and locked myself away in the library and I've just been sitting here watching Kia and Malyk running around outside and practicing sparring.

I heard Brielle sigh and walk away but I didn't try to stop her as I watched Kia kncok Malyk done on the ground and do a little dance around him before screaming when he would jump up.

They have no idea what actually happened and I didn't want them to know about it just yet so they've believed that he's just gone to attend to something with his father.

Hearing footsteps, I looked up and when it tell Brielle to please leave me alone when I seen Aphmau standing there with Lilith in her arms and a soft smile on her face.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, she only smiled at me and walked towards me and held out Lilith towards me, I couldn't help but smile as I took her and moved a bit for her to lean back against my legs and hold her hands.

She smiled and looked around as I kept her balanced as Aphmau sat down and I half expected Aaron to show up around her but nothing happened so I looked over at him.

"Brielle sent me a letter" She admitted, the smallest smile on my face couldn't stay and my face dropped as I realized that meant Aphmau knew what happened.

"Well she didn't need too, I'm alright Aphmau. You didn't have to make this trip and I'm sure it was exhausting" She shook her head and leaned back looking out the window.

"Do you remember us sitting here when Kia was a baby? We were in the exact some position as we are right now" I nodded my head.

"I do" I whispered, she looked over at me.

"And do you remember how we talked all about how wonderful it'll be when we find someone who can love us the way we deserve?" I knew where she was going with this but I still nodded my head.

"I do" She smiled.

"I found that and I'm glad I did because now I also have Lilith now. And I was sure you were about to have that with Zane until Brielle's message and I must admit, it was quite shocking to read that" I sighed.

"Well we didn't get that with each other because he's a liar, that's all he is. Can we move past this topic and talk about anything else?" I asked, she shook her head.

"No" I groaned.

"Why not?" I asked in a whiny tone as I moved so Lilith could look out the window and placed a hand on her stomach and a hand on her back to keep her in place.

"Because I don't believe for one moment that Zane actually did that to you without a reason" I shook my head and stood up with Lilith and started walking towards the door as Aphmau followed me.

"Well he did and the reason was because he got everything that he needed" I answered and walked out, I seen Brielle nearby but she busied herself as I walked down the hall.

Aphmau caught up to me with an expression on her face that I couldn't figure out but I wasn't interesting in finding out and stopped only to place Lilith back into her arms and continue walking.

"Come on Kawaii-Chan. You know for a fact that Zane never would say something like that to you!" I turned around to face her and crossed my arms over my chest.

"He would've the day we met!" She glared at me and I gave her 'am I right' look and turned back around to continue on walking away from her like it was nothing.

Nothing is going to make me change my mind.

"Okay you're right! The day you met and for a while afterwards, he would've said something like that to you and you probably would've said the same thing to him. But things changed Kawaii-Chan and you both fell in love with each other.....I seen it with my own eyes at the ball and the way you've looked at each other and I just know he did this for another reason" She said.

A tear slid down my face but before I could react I heard another set of heavy footsteps and turned around to see Eyrx walking towards us with a serious expression on his face and an envelope in his hand.

"Eyrx" Aphmau stood up straight and nodded to Eyrx, Eyrx bowed to her and then stopped in front of me and held out the envelope, I looked down and realized it's from the Kingdom of Magi.

King Damien's wife.

"We believe that King Damein's secret wife wants to sit down and speak to you regrading what happened between you and King Damien all those months ago" He said.

"Thank you Eyrx" He stepped back and I opened the envelope and pulled out the letter.

Queen Kawaii-Chan of Tu'la,

We haven't met yet and I'm sure you had no idea I existed until my husband chose to attack Tu'la all those months ago just before his death.

I must admit, I was quite angry at first by what you had done and wanted my own revenge for my husband until I found out the truth.

I now know that he went after you because he was angry you had chosen a thief over him and he wanted you to suffer because you refused to marry him.

I am not interested in going to war with Tu'la, I'm quite aware by doing so I would only cause my fall and the destruction of Magi.

I'd like us to meet and if you allow it, I'd like to come to Tu'la and meet you, i want to know more about you and more about what happened between you and Damien.

Please respond if I could come to Tu'la, if I don't hear from you then I'll assume you didn't even read the letter or are denying my trip to Tu'la.

"King Damien had a wife before his death?" Aphmau asked completely forgetting what we were speaknig about, I nodded my head and looked back up at her.

"He was wearing a wedding band just before his death. I half expected his wife to come for revenge but appears I am wrong" She looked at me confused and adjusted Lilith in her arms.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"Her name is Ivana and she wrote about what she knows about King Damien and I now and that she is not going to war with us. She knows it'd lead to the destruction of Magi and her fall" I explained.

"Are you going to meet her?" I nodded my head and folded the letter back up and walked in the direction of my office, Aphmau caught up to me and followed.

"Of course I am. Now I am not letting my guard down around her, I do not know her and I do not know if she's anything like her husband was but I do know she has a reason for this" I said.

"Put guards on high alert" She said, I smiled and pushed the door to my office open and walked towards my desk."Eyrx has already done that" I pointed out the window and she looked over to see more guards starting to take places in their posts and she smiled looking back at me as I begun writing a response back.
