Percy vs Nico - Percy Jackson

Chapter 14

Nico's POV
The pain in my stomach decreases the further I walk and each step fills me with more energy. Soon, I can generate enough energy to shadow travel back to camp. Normally camp is the last place i'd rather be, but my dad doesn't really like me hanging out in the underworld. I haven't decided whether it was because he doesn't want me to get in danger or if he just wants nothing to do with me. Either way I forcefully made a promise to keep up my attendance at camp. My fingers feel smooth and light against the tall, dead grass. I've nearly made it out the garden, at the very end is a tree that I remember vaguely travelling to during the, uhm, argument with Percy. I decide to take a quick pit stop and sit underneath one of the branches. It would be best if I try and obtain as much energy as I can before going to camp. I don't want to show up randomly and then just faint and lay on the ground for someone to find. I lay down and stare up to see the beauty of the tree. All the branches covered by different dark shades of leaves, it was beautiful, a little too beautiful. Before I could realise anything I had closed my eyes and fallen asleep.

I was in my father's palace, knelt in front of the throne was a boy. Persephone and Demeter were sat beside him.
"You have displayed much disappointment in my name!" Hades said.

"I'm sorry father, forgive me." The boy said, then I noticed it was me.

"Challenging Poseidon's son?" Hades replied.

"Technically he challenged me~" Other me said but was quickly interrupted by, my other father?

"Quiet boy! You do not have the position to talk to me like that!" Hades growled, his temper increasing as the conversation goes on.

"And what position do I have?" Other me asks.

"This boy needs to be taught some manners!" Persephone says, way to go for being on my side. Other me stays silent.

"Well his sister and mother died before he could even comprehend this type of attitude and I guess Hades, OW!" Demeter started but got quickly cut off by Persephone's elbow.

"It won't happen again." Other me says with a cold and angry voice before storming off into the corridor. Hades relaxed his head on the back of his throne and let out a sigh.

I awoke and found myself sprawled out on the ground. I sat up but quickly flinched expecting pain, but again, it felt fine. I lifted up my shirt and untied the bloodied bandages from my waist. Underneath was a wound, still raw and red but not big enough to cause anymore bleeding. I chucked the bandages to one side and hooked my shirt under my chin as I leant down on my elbows. I let fresh air get to it for a moment until I gently placed my shirt over it. It stung but the pain was bearable. I sat up again and assessed my surroundings, for some reason I had forgotten where I was. I shift my body to be leaning against the base of the tree and pick up a blade of grass to fiddle with. After getting bored of the blade of grass I chuck it away and just stare in the distance until something catches my attention. To my left in the corner of my eye I see movement behind the grass.

Percy's POV
We finally managed to get the net up, without any of the girls help I might add, and it took us quite a while. I'd just finished breakfast when I arrived and now lunch had just finished.

"You're joking." Dan said.

"What?" Piper yelled from the sidelines.

"We missed lunch." Dan replied with his mouth basically wide open.

"WHAT?!?" Hunter yelled running up to the edge of the hill to overlook camp. Everyone was walking away from the fire pit, which did in fact mean lunch time had passed.

"Ugh, and it was pizza too." I say resting my hands on my head. Dan turned slowly toward me, glaring into my soul. He raised his eyebrows.

"Pizza?" He questioned.

"Yea? I saw it on the board on the way up here." I replied. My words hit him like a train, he collapsed on the floor in defeat.

"And nobody told me?" He said, I swear I could see tears in his eyes.

"Oh get up you old sob." Hunter told Dan while patting him on the back. "Maybe dinner is just as good." That seemed to calm Dan down but he still looked furious.

"This is the last time I play volleyball with you guys if it means I have to miss out on lunch." Dan mumbled and the girls giggled. Hunter is from the Dionysus cabin and Dan and Leo are from the Hephaestus cabin. Willow and Piper are both from Aphrodite's cabin, which explains why they hang out 24/7. We all gathered and made up teams, on my team I had Dan and Piper and on the other team was Hunter, Leo, and Willow. We all got into our positions, Leo was serving first on his side. He struck the ball toward Piper, who flinched and ran away from the ball. She ran AWAY from the ball. I couldn't help but smack my palm to my face.

"Come on guys, you gotta do better than that!" Leo cheekily taunted.

"Hey! That doesn't count, I wasn't ready!" Piper protested. Man, this was gonna be a long match.
