Percy's POV
My hands draw back as the kids body in front of me stays limp. My feet are frozen, my mind becomes foggy as I try to piece together how it ended up this way. The murmur from the crowd around us snaps me out of my haze as I take a look around. Everyone had the same look plastered on their faces, shock and disbelief. I heard a girl quietly whisper to her friend, "Monster," She said, "did he really kill him?" Her hands gripped the girls arm who she was talking to as her eyes widened. Had I killed him? Then someone pushed through the crowd and everyone fell silent. It was Will. At first he stared at me, like I had an answer to why a huge crowd had formed around the fountain, then his eyes dragged to the body lying in the fountain. I could tell by the shock on his face that he had stopped breathing for a second, then he snapped back into it. He shouted at some Apollo kids in the crowd and they snapped out of their daze too and started running toward the infirmary. He then yelled for two other Apollo kids to follow his instructions. He began walking toward me and Nico. He then pushed me away with such force it felt personal as the two Apollo kids carried Nico out of the water. Will had started CPR on Nico just in time for the three Apollo kids to come back through the crowd with a stretcher and hoisted Nico on top. They attached a bag valve mask to his face and began pushing him back up the hill to the infirmary. I stood still the whole time, not processing what was happening. The crowd had begun to disperse as the kid was ushered away, no more excitement to see. Only a murderer.
