Loud snores came from the L-shaped couch as Jimin and Taehyung caught up on some much-needed rest. Sitting at the coffee table in front of them were Namjoon and Hoseok deep in a round of chess. It was Namjoon's idea since Hoseok didn't know how to play, but he was learning quite fast. He even managed to win once with Seokjin's whispered input.
Hoseok scoured the board, "I'm going to move my bishop."
"That's your rook."
"Huh... I knew that," Hoseok giggled at his own mistake.Away from the crowded living room was Kim Seokjin, making his way out of the home. A minute ago, he started pondering Jimin's words from before: Do you guys think we know him? The others knew exactly who he was referring to, but the subject had quickly changed when the private doctor arrived. Everyone had gone pale as a ghost, and thankfully the doctor hadn't heard any of their conversation.
After getting a thorough check-up, the doctor deemed Taehyung a victim of exhaustion and dehydration which is exactly why Taehyung decided to snooze when he left. It wasn't long before his friend joined in, and a chessboard was taken out.
As most introverts can relate, Seokjin found himself missing his dear bedroom. After one thought led to another, he began thinking of his new friend. Would he ever open up enough to admit to something like saving an officer's life? Or was this all a little too convenient? Who knows, the mystery hero could be a total stranger.
But it wouldn't hurt to ask.
Seokjin let the breeze tickle his smooth skin before whipping out his phone. It took a few rings before someone answered.
"Yoongi, hey! How are you?"
On the other end of the phone call, Yoongi stood in one of his finest black suits. His parents had a crucial concert today and he'd attend it to leave a good impression on the business partners. He left his phone to charge while a domestic employee styled his hair devilishly cool. He was tempted to touch the gelled strands until he heard ringing coming from behind him.
He answered it expecting to hear one of his parents, so he was surprised to hear his friend suddenly. "I'm doing good. What's up?"
"Oh, nothing much. You aren't busy right now, are you?" Yoongi claimed to be free, "Good. I have something...important to ask you."
Knowing Seokjin this important question could be a stupid joke. Sometimes he'd receive text messages from him in the middle of class that he claimed were 'so important' and they'd be nothing but new puns he thought of. If Yoongi has to hear a pun before enduring an hour-long car ride, he might 'accidentally' block Seokjin.
While he contemplated whether he should risk hearing it, he sat in front of his vanity mirror. Today he was particularly curious, so he sighed, "What?"
"...Have you ever saved someone?" That was not what he thought he'd say. It caught him so off guard that he didn't know how to respond. "I don't mean just anyone. Have you ever saved a police officer?"
"What? Why are you asking me this?" Yoongi shot back, genuinely confused.
Now it was Seokjin's turn to sigh. He had hoped to get a straightforward answer so he didn't have to reveal any more information, but fate wasn't on his side.
"I've talked to an officer who wants me to pass along his thanks. He said he got caught with a mic and the one with electricity saved him-"
Seokjin stopped when he heard what sounded like glass breaking, and to make him more worried, Yoongi cursed under his breath. He could hear movement but had no idea what happened.
"Yoongi? Yoongi is everything okay?"
No, he wanted so desperately to say, everything is not okay.
