Summary: What if Merlin knew several languages. Uther is the King. The Knights of the Round Table exist and only listen to Arthur and Merlin.

Scene 1

It was one of the quiet days in Camelot. They saw the servant of the young net Arthur was in Gaius chamber studying a book in Latin. When suddenly the door opened

'' What are you doing boy '' said a voice

'' I am learning about different kinds of diseases. Gaius will quiz me about it later '' said Merlin

'' How can I help you .... Your Highness '' said Merlin raising his eyes from the book. Merlin stood up

'' In what language is this book '' asked the interested King seeing the text

'' Latin My Lord '' replied Merlin calmly. Uther looked at him a little impressed

'' I needs a headache medicine '' said the King after a moment of silence. Merlin walked over to the shelf of potions

'' From a scale of 1 to 10 how mucy is the pain. This is important because if you take too little it won't work and if you take too much you can get sick '' he said

'' Between 5 and 7 '' the King replied. Merlin nodded and grabbed the vial

'' Please take twice a day three drops each today and tomorrow and that should help Your Majesty '' he said handing the vial to the King. Uther just nodded and left the physician's chamber.

Scene 2

Merlin finished all the work Arthur had given him and decided to rest for a while. He took out one of his favorite books and sat by the window in the prince's chamber. It was a book about legends from different parts of the world

'' What are you doing Merlin. Don't you have work to do '' said Arthur

'' I cleaned your chamber, sharpened and polished your armor and sword, polished the floor, did the laundry and changed the linens. These were all the tasks you gave me for today. Don't tell me I have to go to the stables because this morning some men took care of it '' said Merlin without taking his eyes off the book. Arthur looked at him puzzled

'' What are you reading like that '' he asked

'' It's a book about legends around the world '' said Merlin still focused on the book. Arthur approached him

'' In what language is it '' he asked

'' Italian and Spanish '' said Merlin. Arthur was impressed and surprised

'' How do you know these languages Merlin '' asked

'' when I was young at home I had no other books but dictionaries : Spanish, Latin, Italian and a few others. I was bored so I started reading them and quickly memorized the words. When I was about 11 maybe 12 summers some travelers came through my village. Because I understood them and helped them they gave me this book '' Merlin said looking at the prince. Arthur nodded

" Could you read to me? " he asked shy,

" Sure, let's sit down and get comfortable first " said Merlin and they both sat down on the bed.

The next few hours Arthur listened to Merlin's calm and soothing voice as he read to him. Before he knew it he had fallen into a peaceful sleep.

Merlin smiled gently and marked where he left off when he wanted to get up he felt Arthur strengthen his grip on him. Knowing that he would not be able to get up without waking the young prince even with magic.

He decided to accept his fate and lay down comfortably beside him. Arthur hid his face in Merlin's neck and sighed softly but did not wake up.

Merlin decided that a little nap wouldn't hurt them, knowing that Arthur had returned from training. However, before he fell asleep he used magic to clean them up and change into something more comfortable to sleep in.

After making sure all was well he joined the prince in the dream world.
