Where is he

Summary: Arthur I feel that you are trying to head right away. Merlin disappeared a few months ago without a trace and they can't find him. What will happen when Merlin returns to Camelot but not alone? Good Uther

 ◈ Uther POV  ◈

When you would have told me 6 years ago that I would take care of a servant I would have laughed at you immediately and sent you to Gaius to check you out.

However, when Merlin appeared in Camelot I can honestly say that he was a storm that we were not prepared for. 

I saw him fighting Arthur like a dog with a cat at first. I didn't like that Merlin didn't give due respect to Arthur.

However, over time I could see their friendship growing and I knew I had made the right decision. 

They reminded me of my friendship with Gaius who is the only one who is not afraid to post to me and call me out on my foolishness. I discovered about his magic by accident when I heard their conversation. 

I realized at that moment that Merlin was protecting Arthur from my enemies. I began to watch him more and more and soon realized that Melin only cared about Arthur's wellbeing. 

I saw how slowly but surely Arthur was changing from a spoiled child to a wise, responsible, good man who would be a better leader than I am.

I know I made many mistakes while Arthur was growing up that I won't be able to undo, I realized this not long after Merlin became his servant.

 Arthur began to direct his gaze toward Merlin when he won, valued his praise greatly, listened to his advice and told Merlin if something was wrong. 

I didn't take it personally because I realized Melin was what Arthur needed to be a good King.

During these years I noticed that what is between them is not a normal friendship, they are not brothers or normal best friends. 

This would have bothered me before, but now I want Arthur to be happy and if being with his servant makes him happy so be it. I suspect that through magic they will be able to give me a grandson or granddaughter. 

Besides, I know that Arthur would not love anyone as much as he loves Merlin. Merlin's presence influences his behavior, you know when they quarrel or Arthur can't find him. 

I remember once Merlin disappeared for two weeks, Artur was absent, moody, his patience washed short. Everyone also knows where he is going somewhere the other one will follow him in short order. 

You can now imagine how Arthur is behaving now because of the fact that Merlin disappeared almost six months ago. 

I was in a meeting at the time when Artur burst into the room shouting that he couldn't find Merlin anywhere. Knowing it was serious I ended the meeting and took him to my chamber where I gave him water and calmed him down a bit. 

When he could speak normally he told me that he hadn't seen Merlin since her before because Gaius had asked him for help. Merlin was supposed to gather herbs for Gaius but the next day when Arthur went to Gaius' chamber it turned out he wasn't there. 

Gaius thought Merlin was with him because the herbs were in his chamber when he woke up. 

This was strange for them so Arthur and his knights set out to find him. They searched the entire upper and lower city, the entire castle and the forest where Merlin was supposed to gather herbs for Gaius and nothing.
