As the plane takes off, I feel a mix of excitement and anticipation. The prospect of exploring Spain brings a sense of adventure and a welcome distraction from the recent challenges. The hum of the engines and the promise of a new destination create a momentary escape, allowing me to focus on the journey ahead.

Nervousness creeps in as the plane accelerates, realizing it's my first time flying. The unfamiliar sensations and the thought of being high above the ground stir a mix of excitement and apprehension. I take a deep breath, reminding myself that the adventure awaiting in Spain is worth overcoming this new experience.

Dante notices my nervousness and gently takes my hand, offering a reassuring squeeze. "Don't worry, Sophia. Flying might feel strange at first, but it's a safe and amazing way to travel. I'm right here with you, every step of the way," Dante says, his voice calm and supportive.

I smile appreciatively, "Thanks, Dante. Having you here makes it easier."

As the plane begins its descent, I peer out of the window and see a breathtaking view of the Spanish landscape unfolding below. The sun casts a warm glow on the picturesque scenery, revealing a patchwork of fields, rolling hills, and quaint villages. The sight eases my nerves, and a sense of anticipation grows as we approach our destination.

"It's beautiful," I remark in awe, my gaze fixed on the captivating Spanish landscape.

"Gorgeous," Dante adds, and as I glance at him, it's evident he's not referring to the scenery. A gentle warmth spreads through me, causing a subtle blush as our eyes meet.

Our brief moment of shared admiration is interrupted by the flight attendant's announcement, informing us of our imminent arrival. I excitedly wait to depart the plane as I glance over at Dante looking at me with adoration.

"This is going to be amazing ." I commented as we grabbed our bags and headed to our villa for the weekend.

My tendency to suppress emotional events and trauma has been a defining aspect of my personality. Taking this two-day mental break feels fitting – a chance to momentarily set aside the weight of recent revelations about my parents. It's not about avoidance; instead, it's an opportunity to gather strength and face these emotions on my terms.Through the years, I've learned that taking a step back and giving myself a mental break whenever someone has let me down has been a valuable self-preservation tool. It's a means of regaining control and processing the disappointments in a way that allows me to bounce back stronger.

Dante breaks my thought train asking "What do you think?",  his question about the villa snapping me back to the present. Looking around, I take in the charm of the Spanish villa, appreciating the distraction it provides from the complexities of my thoughts.

The Spanish villa boasted rustic terracotta walls bathed in the golden hues of the Mediterranean sun. Bougainvillea vines spill over wrought-iron railings, infusing the surroundings with vibrant splashes of magenta. The tiled roof and arched doorways add a touch of traditional elegance, while a secluded courtyard beckons with the promise of tranquility. It's a picturesque retreat that promises a blend of comfort and Mediterranean allure.

"It's breathtaking," I respond to Dante, my eyes still taking in the scenic beauty of the villa. The charm of the surroundings offers a welcome distraction, and for a moment, the weight of recent revelations feels a bit lighter.

Dante, sensing the need for a lighthearted moment, suggests, "How about we explore the local market? It's a great way to soak in the culture and maybe find some hidden gems." His idea brings a spark of enthusiasm, and I nod in agreement, eager for a pleasant distraction in the vibrant Spanish surroundings.

As we meander through the bustling market, the vibrant colors, exotic scents, and lively atmosphere captivate me. It's a sensory feast that draws me into the heart of Spanish culture. The array of local crafts, the rhythm of animated conversations, and the tempting aroma of street food create a delightful experience. I find myself appreciating the rich tapestry of life in this new place, momentarily immersed in the beauty of the moment.

Dante offers me a local delicacy from a street vendor, urging me to give it a try. Intrigued, I accept, savoring the blend of unfamiliar flavors that adds another layer to my experience of Spain. The gesture becomes a shared adventure, a reminder that even in the midst of personal challenges, there's joy to be found in embracing new moments and discoveries.

"What is it? It's delicious!" I exclaimed, going in for another bite.

"Churros con Chocolate, a delightful Spanish treat." Dante responds as I look at him with a look that said I do not speak spanish. "It's crisp, golden churros, paired with a rich, velvety chocolate dipping sauce." He clarified as the taste create a delightful burst of flavors in my mouth.

We continued our walk, enjoying the mesmerizing hues of the sunset casting a warm glow over the water. The tranquil beauty of the scene creates a sense of calm, providing a much-needed respite from the complexities of life. As the sun dips below the horizon, Dante suggests that we should probably head back to the villa. With a final glance at the breathtaking view, we make our way back, carrying the serene moments with us.
