Toby's POV

The next morning I was still feeling a bit tired from Carmen's birthday last night. Lita is still asleep in the room, it's currently nine in the morning and I
decided to make me and her some breakfast. I'm in the kitchen mixing up pancake batter and making scrambled eggs and bacon when I got a phone call from someone who I haven't heard from in several month... My Dad!

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hey Toby! How it going son?" He asked.

"Hey Dad! I'm doing good how about you?" I asked.

"I'm doing well son. Still hanging in there and serving the community." He chuckled.

If your wondering, yes. My dad is still works in the police enforcement. But he's now the chief officer. He's the head of the LAPD now. He got promoted to that position in 2015. It was so good to hear his voice again.

"That's awesome." I said.

"So what have you been up to man?" He asked.

"Not much. A month ago, me and Lita celebrated being in a relationship for ten years!" I beamed.

"That's fantastic!" He chuckled.

"I'm currently in the kitchen right now making her some breakfast." I said.

"That's nice of you." He said. "I'm really proud of you for stepping up and being a responsible man Toby."

"Thanks dad." I smiled. "Oh and also, I went to a birthday party last night!"

"Really? Who's birthday was is?" He asked.

"It was Lita's little sister Carmen's! It was really fun!" I said.

"Oh I remember her. There was no alcohol involved was it?" He curiously asked.

"No way. It was at Ms. Martinez's house. She doesn't like alcohol because of what it did to her husband." I explained.

"Okay good." He said.

"And I hate alcohol myself, it's disgusting." I made a face.

"I know you do." He laughed.

"How's mom by the way?" I asked.

"She's doing well, she's still doing her business and all." He explained. "I wish she would just slow down and take a breather."

"Well that's mom for you, she's a strong woman and she won't let anything stop her." I chuckled.

"You're right about that!" He laughed. "Well I better go, I'm suppose to have a meeting today with my employees."

"Okay dad, talk too you later." I said.

"Take care son, bye." He hung up.

It felt so great talking to my dad again. I put my phone down and continued cooking. I finished with the pancakes and the bacon and was finishing up the eggs. While doing so, I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist. I started grinning because I knew who it was.

"Whatcha doing?" She asked.

"Making breakfast." I said.

"It smells good." She said. "I'm so hungover from last night."

"Yeah I'm still tired too" I turned around and pecked her on the lips.

"Wasn't it such a magical night for Carmen and Tyler?" She grinned.

"It sure was!" I lit up. "Man I'm so glad that those two are together again!"

"Tell me about it! I wonder what those to love birds are up to now?" Lita rubbed her chin.
