Going After The Wrong Guy is your classic enemies to lovers book. It explores a trope many have read before and due to its lighthearted and dramatic manner, it is the type of book you want to read to escape reality.

The main character Genesis is a young lady that has just started university. She has a crush on a boy many would call a walking red flag and due to her inexperience is unable to meet his needs. Her roommate, on the other hand is more than happy to teach her so that she can get the guy she desires. It was all supposed to be for his enjoyment, but it starts to become more than that.

The author's ability to make us feel heightened emotions ranging from anger to joy and sadness to excitement is something that most readers would appreciate. The writing is easy to read and the story is one you can easily follow along with. It was well written and the plot was interesting.

Towards the end, unfortunately, the book's tone changed completely. There are chapters that the Author asked readers to not read because they needed heavy editing. However, whether or not one reads them, it's easy to note the change. The climax was not well explored and the problem was not fully developed. I suggest that the Author go over the last few chapters to make them better and develop the high points of the story.

Going After The Wrong Guy has characters of all kinds of personalities, but it was great to see some character development from the main male character James as well as a bit of change from Chad. It is also important to note that there are some mature scenes in this book and it may not be completely suitable for younger audiences.

All in all, I commend the Author for being able to explore the trope well and although there are some changes that should be made, it is a good book and I highly recommend it.
