Everything was going smoothly at the TVA. Missions were going as planned, Variants were being pruned, and the Sacred Timeline wasn't forming any branches.
But then that perfect moment ended.
A few analysts happened to look up from their desks and saw branches form on the Sacred Timeline rapidly.
Frantically, one of the analysts picked up his phone and started reciting the emergency code for those types of situations. But the analyst next to him grew impatient, so he grabbed the phone from him and got straight to the point.
"Somebody just bombed the Sacred Timeline!"
Judge Renslayer had seen what the emergency was and immediately grabbed her weapon. But just as she was about to head out the door of her office, she heard something.
Ravonna...
Renslayer whipped around to try to find the person who said her name.
No one was with her.
Ravonna shook her head. Came back to her senses.
She had work to do.
Everything was a blur to Loki. The Time Door opened, and the Variant pulled him through wherever they were. The next thing he knew, they were in a dark room.
"WHA—" Loki started to yell, but the Variant clamped her hand over his mouth.
"Shh!" She hissed. "I'm not going to kill you. I need you to shut up for a second. I need to talk to you."
Loki tried to speak, but it was all muffled because of her hand on his mouth. She rolled her eyes and fixed him with a glare. Loki decided to stay quiet.
Until she took her hand off.
"Who do you think you are?" He whispered angrily.
"Oh, come on—" the Variant started to say, but Loki barreled on.
"What did you just do to me?" He hissed. "If I had my daggers right now, you'd be sorry! I'll admit, you're skilled with your magic, but—"
"Loki—" the Variant tried to speak, but Loki wouldn't let her.
"Those memories are mine and mine alone, and you can't just—"
"They're my memories, too!" The Variant burst out, and time seemed to stop.
For a second, Loki felt like he couldn't breathe.
They're my memories, too.
They're my memories, too.
They're my memories, too.
Her words swirled in Loki's mind as he processed what he was hearing.
This wasn't possible.
Time was playing tricks on him.
He had officially gone insane.
It couldn't be her. It wasn't.
So why did she seem so familiar?
Then he saw them.
Her eyes.
Her beautiful, beautiful eyes.
It was dark, but he could still see them.
He would never forget that shade of green. How it seemed to glow at night. How they seemed to sparkle when she got excited or passionate about something.
Like they were doing right now.
Then it hit him.
Sylvie.
